I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked yet. I just started 2 without playing the first and am following just fine. It's called paying attention and reading; it'll do you some good in RPG's.

People understand things i don't understand and it makes me FREAKIN' MAD!

And when they take the time to explain that the things i don't understand aren't explained in the first game either or simply inconsequential to the main story... well that is THE WORST!

I love this game precisely because it doesn't feed shit to you. Want to know how to deal with monsters? Geralt forgot, so what do you do? Go and buy a book or conduct research via the tried and true method of smacking it around with a sword until you understand it.

It's a world that you don't know and Geralt doesn't fully know either due to his memory loss. It's a fantastic way to engage the player in a much deeper way than most other RPGs of this kind.

Yeah, this is true. I suggest watching the quick look to get a sense of whether or not you're going to enjoy the combat. Story and voice acting is great though.
