My computer can run this game at max with about 25-30 average FPS in demanding areas. It looks fantastic so I was wondering how this game stacks up against Crysis or something. Anyone do any kind of comparison?

As with anything involving graphics, it's totally subjective as to whether this game looks better than Crysis. IMO, they're both really different--one's clearly full-on fantasy while the other tries to find a middle ground between sci-fi and realism.

I will say that the Witcher 2's engine scales a lot better than Crysis. The lowest settings in TW2 still look pretty damn good. The lowest settings in the oiginal Crysis look worse than Far Cry.

The lighting in game is good, the art design is meh, textures are meh. I think the games graphical innovations are overrated as its mostly a patch job tricking you into believing so. Cryware, and ID5 on the other hand are master pieces of programming, even though graphics are overrated. All i want in a game is good art design, good textures, and maybe a pinch of aa if its not to much to ask.

@Marz: well in that case, :D

No way this even looks near crysis's photo realism. Go ahead and put a few of these screenshots on this thread, not going to click on every one of them.

I'll try to edit some into this first page for my post then. Also i'm going to borrow some of your screenshots too. Don't get me started on the character models.

Does it look as realistic as Crysis? No.

Does it have a more appealing artstyle/aesthetic? In my opinion it does. I love the way this game looks, and I'm only playing on what are essentially High settings. Motion blur disabled for me as well, I think it's unnecessary and a little overdone here. Overall I'm loving the artstyle though.

@HitmanAgent47: i agree that crysis has a more photorealstic look.   Witcher 2 has a stylistic look that has a dark and moody tone which also looks pretty good.  So I wouldn't compare them myself, they both are going for a different look.

@Marz: sorry i'm someone who's immuned to art design, I think it's just compensating for a lack of technical graphics. The whole la noire vs stylistic gta 4, I like la noire a hundred times better. I can't see art design anymore, so i'm not the one to comment about art. I honestly don't think the witcher 2 looks as good as ppl remembered it. I might borrow your screenshots for this post. We are here to be objective, so let's compare directly with no smoke and mirrors. It's still a nice looking game imo, graphical techniques looks like it will take alot of gpu power.

Of the two I prefer the Witcher 2 because I am a sucker for good lighting. But which is technically superior? I couldn't answer this with any confidence. Both engines do different things better.

I don´t know what you talking about here!? Art design is great! One of the beast in years for a dark Fantasy/Medieval..
