Looks like they addressed the fog issue! Hope that helps on the PS4, that's causing the worst of the framerate issues.
Anybody given it a shot yet? How are the performance improvements working out? I just haven't felt like playing in a while, but i still need to hop back in and finish the main quest and a bunch of side quests.
@oursin_360: They haven't released it yet.

Really? I have an update notice for the game and figured that's what it was just haven't bothered to update it yet.

I thought the same with that 500MB update, but after it updated the main menu still said v1.06, so I'm not sure what it did exactly.
As a person who does not at all mind the current movement, I'm probably not the best judge of the change. But I'll add my feedback once this here download finishes.
Edit: Yep - much better. It's not a crazy difference, but it's enough to make you feel like you are more in control. The camera does what you would expect, that's the biggest difference. It should have shipped like this. I understand they had a creative goal, but this is so subtle a change as it pertains to the overall "look" of the movement while providing a much more standard control feel, that I don't understand why it wasn't like this from the start.
@slang_n_bang: This looks utterly ridiculous, but probably wouldn't if I wasn't used to the current system. Actually I was expecting exactly this and I suspect a lot of people will be satisfied with the changes.
The old style was fine in wide open spaces, but was (imo) annoying in interiors and around Novigrad. It was never a huge issue for me, though.
PC Patch "what's up" from the devs:
Ok guys, take it from someone who used to be a modder on these forums before joining CDPRed (so maybe I have earned some "street cred"):
There is no reason for us to artificially delay a PC patch because of consoles. Actually, many patches so far have been released first on PC (1.06 was PC exclusive). We don't only fix general bugs and improve many features with 1.07, but we also fix issues specific to the platforms; of course including the PC. This means that while some platforms might be in the process of certification, the work on the others continues.
Please be patient and have a little trust, it won't be long. This is my last answer regarding this issue, because soon you guys will be busy playing W3 with the new patch anyway - on all platforms.
Benzenzimmern
CD Project Red are incredible. The problem is so many gamers for some reason expect them to magical.
I understand there might be a delay on the PC patch, however, do we know yet if it is still coming today ?
@geraltitude: After two months of raging on their forums about this specific topic they give that vague statement (and they have released similar but even vaguer statements before). its poor communication.
"does it look like.... theres no reason for us to... why would we... etc. etc." Are you or are you not doing this is the question and a yes or a no would suffice as the answear.

Well they promised (actually used the word promise) it would be out on all platforms within 24hours about 15hours ago so theres 9hours left.

Well, I've been waiting since about 9am to play The Witcher 3 today, and it's now 6pm. Reaaaaaally hoping that promise is accurate (even though now that I think about it, the time to download it means I wont play it till tomorrow anyway).
Wait did no one get the patch yet on ps4? I started downloading it at 6:00pm PST and got to play it later tonight. I hope I didn't get an early release or something, I noticed that meditation was really glitchy where the clock in game will change, but the actual cycle of night and day wont.

I'm playing on PS4 and the download finished about two hours ago. I heard perhaps Europe PS4 users got it first?
@probablytuna: I'm in the U.S. and my PSN is registered here too. I guess I just got lucky?
Perfect timing on this. I just finished getting the "true ending" in Arkham Knight and I was thinking I'd like to go back to me Death March alchemy playthrough. I never really had an issue with the movement other than the swimming (which they of course fixed earlier) but I'll definitely give this new mode a try, the thing I'm most excited about is the inventory changes cause in the back half of my original playthrough the shit got cluuuuttered.
Just hit an odd bug that I've only seen with this version. I went to get a haircut and when I was done, ALL my gear had had its level requirement increased beyond my level. So I was naked and couldn't put my stuff on.
Edit: not a bug. Seems all the Witcher Gear had its levels increased in this patch. It wasn't until the barber took my clothes off that I noticed I couldn't put them back on. it does appear that story missions that force you to remove your clothes, don't have this issue, just the barber.
Long story short: Performance is much worse (up to 8 FPS less for the XB1 version). Double Buffered VSync for both versions, so the framerate gets locked to 20 FPS during the most stressful scenes.
Even if I have to wait longer to get this patch, I'm so glad I'm playing this game on PC...
Still waiting for 900p option on ps4... Gameplay>graphics
Well i agree but that is never gonna happen.

I know because people will have a shit fit like with gta 5 when a patch downgrade the graphics.
PC patch seems to be live on Steam, all 5.1GB of it.
I'd been putting off finishing the game (and trying out my new 980ti on it, damn that was tough!) until it had come out.
Not on GOG yet, but they tweeted this yesterday:
Get ready - Patch 1.07 for @witchergame (and the newest DLC) will appear in the next 24h on http://t.co/af5NS6BjoM! pic.twitter.com/VagS7JfqUO
— GOG.com (@GOGcom) July 17, 2015
So it should be released pretty soon...
Patch is up on GOG and Steam, go get it!
GOG servers are getting hammered right now so you will experience disconnects or unresponsiveness. A little bit of patience goes a long way.
Some users report that it's easier to download from the GOG site rather than waiting for Galaxy. You can manually update and Galaxy should detect the new game version. (Galaxy users)
Make sure to manually check for the patch, some patches might be set up with a queue and not show up. In certain cases a restart may be required for the patch to show up. (Steam users)
These are amazing fixes. I just wish they would let me remove the green smokey thing from high toxicity. I like using decoctions and it sucks to have that green border for the entire time I'm playing.
This is good call. That annoyed me as well. Also Geralts crazy veiny look which is kind of cool but crazy in cutscenes.
