That hair...guys...the hair. I know, it's an open world game, but *sigh*. I guess we should stick to the wait and see path when it comes to this game.

I cant wait until this comes out so I can finally get to playing witcher 2.

While the way his hair looks in that shot bugs me a bit, it doesn't do anything to kill my anticipation for this game.

Well it still has quite a bit of development time left so I'm sure many graphical improvements will be made by the time the game ships. I don't even think it's officially been confirmed to come out this year. That said, an open world game is always going to look worse than a tightly scripted linear game.

Yeah not a big fan of the hair. But if it's the same as The Witcher 2, we should be able to change his hairstyle.

The swords look good, and that's all that really matters, right?

I've been playing the first game (finally) and actually really liking it.

So far the only thing I don't like is Geralt's armor. Hope (and assume) we get other options though.

Just feel people should be reminded that these screens are not using the new engine (as it isn't done yet). I'm sure the actual game will look leagues ahead of this. It's still a ways out from release.

Every screenshot you posted looks significantly worse then Witcher 2, but I doubt the final game will look anywhere near that bad. In fact I'm guessing that the Witcher 3 is going to be one of the best looking games of 2014. Those screenshots look like Witcher 2 set to low/medium settings.

Looks awesome, excited to hear more about this game.

I feel like they should have announced this game much later than they did! This really doesn't look that impressive and I'd rather be impressed later than slightly underwhelmed now.

It's very...geometric.

Considering its coming out in 2014, the hair will probably will be better. Still pumped for this though.

@bwheeeler: Yeah, it seems like this was announced shortly after Cyberpunk just to get people talking about CDPR. (as part of their recruitment perhaps?) Because this game had a rather pathetic debut trailer and these screens are kind of terrible.

Still it's a long way off and all the screen shots leading up to The Witcher 2 werent half as impressive as the game itself. (not to mention Geralt went through a lot of revisions)

For as good as the witcher games look their art style still makes them look just ever so slightly cartoony I think.

Looks like the game is directed by JJ Abrams, look at all that lens flare. It's like medieval Mass Effect.

Looks a tad worse than Witcher 2, but since it's moving into a more open-world design, I imagine that this is a compromise that had to be made.

Are you guys talking about the technical aspect of how the hair is rendered or the hairstyle itself? Because thats the hairstyle I wore throughout Witcher 2 and it's awesome.

I'll pick this up in the bargain bin. God I hate flare, motion blur and depth of field effects.

I remember reading in Game Informer a few months ago all current screenshots are from "current gen" builds of the game, so I wouldent knock it to much yet.

@officegamer: I know, right? I can understand wanting to see improvements in a sequel, but come on. Pretty soon we're going to get to a point where games hit the wall in terms of graphical fidelity, and people will still be complaining that the main character's stubble doesn't move in the wind.

The first one can be difficult to get through, but the second is pretty smooth. So, if the first is holding you up, you can definitely just jump to the second. :)
