Mutagen is an alchemy ingredient in The Witcher. It's obtained from the bodies of mutants and armored hounds.
In many games, the player can find notes that contain story information, hints, codes to unlock doors, and so on. Especially common when there are no other characters around for the player to talk to.
The Witcher contains a fairly robust alchemy system that allows you to create your own potions.
The witchers' silver sword is just like a normal sword, but it's used primarily against monsters, as it's ineffective against humans and animals. It can be enchanted with runes by a blacksmith. It's used in all 3 witcher fighting styles.
The topmost bone in the human body, it contains the brain and the eyes, and is generally considered a good thing to keep intact.
