Don't Let Thief Steal Your Money
If you're looking for a game that has a few moderate thrills, lots of poorly designed levels, and really bad AI, then Thief is the game for you. Even though the game's name is Thief, don't worry, the story doesn't really revolve around thievery at all. Thief disappointed me greatly in most places, but there were a few times that Thief was pretty good.
Let's start off with the gameplay. The stealth in Thief is the best aspect of the game, it works well in most places, in others it might not. One of the most frustrating things is how when you're trying to sneak past a guard that has it's back turned to you but somehow still manages to see you (a perfect example of the horrible AI). The combat is one of the most flawed gameplay aspects of the game, if you get into a situation where you may have to fight, such as getting caught, I would suggest that you just restart the level.
The story is also not that good, this is mainly due to thievery not being featured in the main storyline very much. Most of the levels that are based on thievery are side missions, other than them the only thievery you really get to do a lot of is just grabbing random valuable items from houses. The ending was also lacking a little of what previous entries in the series have.
Now to the graphics. Graphics don't really change how I feel about a game but I still feel the need to talk about it. On the Xbox 360 version the graphics are okay, the graphics are best on the Xbox One version, the other consoles all look pretty similar.
The game isn't one that I had a great time playing, except at moments, mainly because of flawed gameplay and story. I really like the Thief series but this entry was definitely the weakest point for the series. I truly hope that if there is another entry in the series it will be more well done than this one.
