BPReview: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (PS3)

    What I liked:

A.I. - You have 2 buddies that you order around to take cover, fire at the enemy, clear rooms etc, and they are pretty decent at it. Usually in games like this the people you order around get caught up on doors, walls or general objects in the enviornments, but the pathfinding of your fellow Rainbows here is really good.

    What I didn't like:

Death - Question. Do you like dying alot in games? If you answered 'No' then steer clear of R6V, cause your gonna die...alot. Why? Well IMO it seems that rarely do the enemies miss when they fire at you and you can only take 2 or 3 rounds before death sets in.

Length - Fact - if you aren't having fun doing something you usually don't wanna do it for very long. And as such this game went on way too long for my tastes.

Graphics - IGN says that the graphics in R6V are astounding. Personally I wasn't overly impressed with them. I honestly think that these graphics could have been achieved on the original Xbox. Their certainly not worthy of the title 'next/now gen'

Dodge - I'm not talking about a button you push to avoid being shot at, I'm talking about the vehicle brand Dodge. Every single vehicle in the game is either a Dodge truck or car. Does Ubisoft honestly expect us to believe that people only dive Dodge vehicles in Vegas? Talk about breaking the illusion of reality.

Summary - I don't get it. I really like games like SOCOM and Brothers in Arms, but when it came to R6V I really didn't have that much fun. I'm not sure if it's the way Ubisoft designs these types of games (R6V,GRAW and the like) but they need to do something different cause just like GRAW I went into R6V really looking forward to it, but in the end I wanted something more than just a stale, plain, kinda boring game that felt the same the whole way through.

    Overall I give Rainbow Six Vegas (PS3) a 3 out of 5.

As Sin City drowns in Chaos, three Men come to save the Day. 0

Ubisoft's latest entry in the Rainbow Six franchise puts you in the shoes of team leader Logan Keller whose teammates got kidnapped on a routine mission to capture the terrorist leader Irena Morales. Logan makes it out on his own, but has to leave his mates behind on order of the headquarter. It appears that an army of terrorists has invaded Sin City and Keller is to lead Bravo team to clear the situation and uncover the plot. It's too bad though that the story sounds like taken right out of a T...
