Does the PC version of SC Conviction have any DRM?

If I can preorder Conviction for 44.95 (approx) on amazon with no tax and free shipping, is it worth it? I have a capable PC, but my only concern is DRM. Some of the SC games (UBI PC games in general)included starforce and I'm worried I'll get that crap in my PC again.

They don't use starforce anymore for ubisoft games since chaos theory. Also alot of ubisoft games does use drm called securerom, prince of persia doesn't.

I don't know if it has installation limits though which is a form of securerom recently. I knew far cry 2 did, however no starforce though.

Even though I played Chaos Theory on the PC, I have a feeling the more action oriented gameplay of Conviction is going to work better on a gamepad.

@jams: It will probably have similar DRM to Assassins Creed 2 with the need of a constant Internet connection.

    I think that was confirmed.

I would advise you to stay out of getting it while the drm is still in use, as it requires the constant internet connection, but if you got no issue with it...

I am going to be quite curious how the sales of Ubisoft PC games with this new DRM are. Especially considering when Assassin's Creed 2 launched the servers were broken and very few could actually play.

I canceled the preorder. Maybe if they make it available through steam without the same DRM I'll get it, but until then I'll try and get it through gamefly.

According to what Ubisoft claims, the DRM:
    requires internet connection all time
    doesn't require disc to play
can be installed for an unlimited number of times

While this may seem a lot better than the other DRMs *ahem*Spore*ahem*, it doesn't mean I approve of it
Why pirates have a better experience than those who pay full price? If the hackers crashed their Assassin's Creed server, they can do the same.
Plus, them hackers will be able to crack the game anyways.

That doesn't actually sound too bad. I have a pretty solid connection up here in Canadialand. Hopefully Ubisoft's servers don't constantly die.

This happened several times already and all recent Ubisoft games were affected (Silent Hunter 5, The Settlers 7 etc)
