I play the game for the story.  I think I'm just playing the levels to get to the next cutscene to further the story.
Are you guys finding the same?

Definitely playing to get to the next cut scene, rather then playing the game. The game was fun, but I thought the levels fell a little flat... But I'd do it again to listen to Michael Ironside. *school girl sigh*

I do the complete opposite. I've come to dislike story in pretty much all games I play recently for some, odd reason. If they completely removed the story I think I'd be even more into it.

Conviction is more like the good 24 than 24 is now. Notice that?

No, actually I didn't. It's unusual. Since most of the time, yeah, I play because I want to see what happens, and how it intertwines with the gameplay. But, I was more focused on the gameplay elements and how they were and weren't similar to the originals than the actual story. Some of the surprises, weren't very surprising to me whatsoever. I'm actually playing it now. Well, I beat the game in my first sitting since it's not very long at all, and now I'm going through the co-op. It's not a bad game at all. Eh, I don't have to go in and talk about which is better or not. I can't even say that.

It depends on the game, but with Splinter Cell I was enjoying the gameplay so much that I wasn't paying much attention to the story. Same thing happened with Co-Op.

I played it for both the story and game play.

Yeah! I thought that Sam was a lot like Jack Bauer a few times while playing.
