This game featured a variety of modes including preseason (exhibition), season, and custom leagues.
The following teams were included. It's important to note that the game only contained the MLBPA (Players Association) license and not the official MLB License. This meant that all players in the MLBPA were allowed into the game, however there were not official team names or logos in the game. Each team was only called by it's city and would only feature the team colors.
The game also featured "scouting reports" and advice from your bench coaches as the game went on. For example, throughout the game, you could see what the pitching coach thought about your current pitcher and give you advice. This was also one of the first baseball games where you had to "warm-up" your relievers.
The game also featured six stadium types. Including "Ivy," "Warehouse," "Monster," and "Turf". Ivy was based on Wrigley Field, Warehouse was based on Camden Yards. Monster was based on Fenway Park. Turf was based on a variety of turf stadiums including the Skydome or Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia.
