Overview
Town with No Name, known in-game as The Town with No Name, is a comedic Old West themed point-and-click adventure game developed by Delta 4 Interactive and published by On-Line for the CDTV in Europe in 1992, with a DOS PC release in 1993.
Set in the titular "Town with No Name", players guide a mysterious drifter known as the "Man with No Name" as he enters the town only to be ambushed by a gunman. After taking out the gunman, he learns that the man he killed was "Evil Eb's littlest brother" and that Evil Eb is sending his posse to take the drifter out. Much of the game is exploring the town while dispatching Evil Eb's gang.
Most of the gameplay relies a simplistic menu system where players choose where to go and/or what to do. Throughout the game, players will encounter gunfights against each member of Evil Eb's gang, in which players have a limited amount of time to shoot their opponent (similar to light-gun games). Other mini-games include some playing card games (three-card monte and "Chase the Ace") and a quick-time event where the drifter attempts to catch a sliding drink glass.
The game is infamous for its quality in all aspects of its production and presentation, from its simplistic gameplay, to its primitive cartoon and 3D graphics, to its odd sense of humor. Some of its gameplay and style is similar to Delta 4's other CDTV game, Psycho Killer.
