have to say server is a success, 56 players on it at one time and 40+ on it right now. just needs more new tracks.

One common complaint so far is the round timer. I cannot figure out how to change this with my server plugin (xaseco), and the last time I tried, it somehow got changed to 0 seconds and repeatedly switched maps and booted everyone.

Once I figure out a SAFE way of changing this, I will! If anyone has any ideas, please say so. For everyone's sanity.

edit: round timer is now 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

Thanks for making this server the most populated TM2 server in the world last night! Hope you guys are enjoying it.

And no really, link some tracks so I don't just keep shotgunning random garbage I find on TMX into the jukebox.

@Karsh: I kind of enjoyed the influx of immediately deleted tracks earlier. Glad you were able to get the round timer thing figured out!

EDIT: Yep, this server is the greatest, I will be around a LOT.

It's on my favourites after last night so I'll probably keep playing on it, the latency's good for me too considering I'm in the UK.

However, why wouldn't we play random garbage? I love random garbage.

I tried to fix the donate plugin, but it's still messed up. Now it'll tell you that you don't have enough planets to donate. Maybe you don't! But you probably do. It's a bug, just ignore it.

I've also disabled the local record chat plugin. Finally, you can use the chat as a chat without spam about how someone got the 37th local record flooding the chatbox. nevermind, this doesn't feel like working just yet.

Finally, sometime today I will be uploading a bunch of new tracks. Come experiment with us!

I was playing on it, from the UK, works pretty nicely, good job.

Sure, just upload it somewhere (rapidshare, etc work fine if you don't want to make a TMX account) and I'll add it.

edit: Just a heads up that I'm only going to host this server off of my desktop until Monday (9/19). I'm going to look into renting a server soon, or if anybody else wants to take the reins, let me know. I can upload the record database, tracks, plugin settings and such for you.

Not bad! Like I said on the server (after a knee-jerk reaction and giving you some crap), just add some signs and hone up some of the parts that fling you off of the track unrecoverably.

Post links to Mania Exchange in this thread. Karsh and I can both add maps, and I'll try to add new ones as often as I can. Make sure to vote on the tracks, too. There are a lot in the hopper right now, so we should probably cut the low karma tracks to keep the number manageable.

But since it's a new server, there's no karma on anything. Keep voting!

I've updated the OP to reflect this, too.

I won't be around much for the next few days, but I'll definitely be around for the weekends. Track adding party weekends!

Edit: Nevermind, working now for whatever reason. Thanks for putting up an official server! Good to have a place to congregate.

Fixed itself after about 5 minutes for me, not sure what the problem was.

[Error 12002] [UPDATED] MANIAPLANET MASTER SERVER IS DOWN

The Master Server has crashed and at the same we are going trough a power outage at Nadeo. This combination of circumstances prevents from bringing back the Master Server at this moment.

I find it pretty funny and/or depressing that the master server is being hosted on-site.. Nadeo really doesn't have any money, do they? actually maybe I'm reading this wrong, maybe they do have a server hosted elsewhere and they just lost power and are unable to manage it? Either way it's pretty dumb.

Was on the fence about this game but a GB server has sold me. I'll be jumping in this weekend after payday ;)

Pumped about the new server, although the older GB one was awesome as well. Wish I wasn't stuck at work so I could play!

Played a couple rounds on the server a little earlier. We played on my track and I got a lot of positive feedback. Thanks again to Jeff for uploading it to the server!

You can take it off the server for now until I figure out how to make it better/more user friendly. I have signs on there but I didn't realize how fraking lost people get, so I clearly need to fix that problem.

I think this new map has the best flow out of my maps so far, it's the most straight forward and I think probably the best one I've made. Will iterate if need be as long as I know the problems people are having. I'm really trying to take any feedback I can to make the maps I make better.

Frequent Giant Bomb lurker here but this is my first forum post.

Just want to post and say that I have been playing on the server most of the day and how much fun I have been having, Hope is stays as busy as it has been and I am looking forward to some of the poorer tracks being culled slightly :) Thanks a lot.

Spent about 6 hours on it last night/today everyone buy this game, you won't regret it. It is such a blast playing with everyone.

Karsh was your server called the Giantbomb Server before? I had that as a favourite and its notw disappeared. I assume that's due to us all going to Jeff's server now.

Anyway, played on Jeff's server last night. Nice to have a couple of favourites to go back to where you know its going to be populated most of the time. Great work here
