Thanks for sorting the servers. I've had fun playing the beta this weekend on them, probably convinced me to buy Stadium. Been a couple of years since I last played a Track mania game.

Uh, I appear to have been IP banned from the server and I don't quite know why. It had something to do with time incoherence. I got lost on the track it happened on and restarted at a checkpoint a few times. From the brief research I did, it appears it's got something to do with multiple checkpoints on overlapping tiles. By resetting to a checkpoint, the game gets confused by it or something. This was also a problem back in Nations apparently.

To be honest I haven't got the slightest clue. It's 1.20am here, so I'm tired and confused. Not a good combination when trying to make a coherent post about matters such as this.

I made a track today and it's not terrible. How do I make my track available for people to play?

I've never played Trackmania 2 before and I think these servers might have sold me on buying Stadium at some point.

This is the result of my first time dicking around in any TrackMania editor:

I was curious as to how a transition to a horizontal wall ride from inside a loop might play. I think that part came out all right, for a first attempt. If I felt like starting over, I would probably make the loop begin as high as possible to allow for more wall time on the way down. I should have probably added a GPS because of that section, but I was too lazy to look up how to do it.

My server's banlist is empty. Are you able to connect to other servers (e.g. Official Classic)? Could be a temporary global IP ban, I've seen that happen before.

I'm digging the fact that people are making new tracks. Some of the ones on the server currently are kinda meh. Glad that we're getting some new ones :D

@karsh: Whatever happened, it's over now. I was able to join the server there now.

Just got home. I'll be uploading community-made tracks soon.

Official Classic did. I just restored its tracklist, everything's back to normal now.

I've had so much fun at this server already, but can someone please explain me what's the practical use of Planet points?

Planets are pretty worthless right now until Nadeo reimplements custom car models and more Manialink functionality. But even then they're pretty dang worthless because most models worth a crap are posted to Trackmania Carpark for free. So generally planets are just a metric for how much you like something and how much completely arbitrary funmoney you want to throw at servers and content creators.

Got both tracks and I'll upload them tonight, along with any other tracks that people submit by the time I get home. Also here's a PayPal donation link.

Good news! I was finally able to retrieve my Stadium player key, which allowed me to validate Unofficial Classic, which allows me to set it as a registered ladder server. I've never completely understood how the ladder system works, but I believe this means you can go above 50k ladder points on the server once I dump 10k planets into Nadeo's sink.

Got it, looking forward to playing it tonight. And regarding karma: I generally delete tracks under 50% local karma.

Also thanks to you and Brian B., between both of your donations I was able to pay for another month of increased memory for the VPS hosting Unofficial Classic. The 50 playercap will live on!

Canyon seemed all but dead when I jumped back on a few days ago. Not to mention when I did find a good server the tracks were awful.

Just got Stadium to revive the TrackMANIA. See you there!

Just a heads up, Jeff's server (Official Classic) is undergoing host maintenance again. Nothing I can do about it except groan because TrackmaniaServer.org didn't post about it in advance so it's probably something catastrophic.

An update regarding Official Classic--The server's host is apparently being upgraded. Kinda crappy that they informed us of this AFTER they started working on it, but oh well. Quoth TrackmaniaServer:

Today our datacenter will upgrade the hardware of the Hostsytem Cluster6 (like on Cluster4 before). All servers will gain more ressources to improve the stability. During the maintenance the Hostsystem must be shut down. we will keep you informed about the progress via this blog.

Update 08:42: The hostsystem is up in testing mode for stability checks.

@Karsh You really need to excise the nadeo maps from the rotation. They are all quite boring.

The server was poppin' off yesterday. Had to wait a good while in spectator mode before I could join the game. Also, is the Far Cry 3 pot burning mission song in the tracklist, because it needs to be there.
