Unnecessarily Serious Answer: I don't think tipple changers fit into the gameplay they've constructed. Everyone gets one vehicle form with specific strengths and weaknesses.

Astrotrain sounds like the title of an erotic fan fiction staring the Jetsons.

Springers a better Triple Changer than the rest combined. 
 
Plus how much use is a train going to be without tracks? 

Astro Train was in the game, he passed by several times in the decepticon missions. In one case he almost killed us all.
