So this game is 75% off ($7.49 US) on Steam today. As we all know, there hasn't been much of a WFC multiplayer scene after the initial launch, but with the price cut today, there's gonna be a bunch of people playing at least for a little while (currently 89 people online). Come join the action! (while you can). It's pretty awesome.
Transformers: War For Cybertron
Game » consists of 20 releases. Released Jun 22, 2010
A depiction of the beginning of the infamous war between the noble Autobots and the nefarious Decepticons, set on the Transformers' homeworld, Cybertron, long before they had even heard of humans or the planet Earth.
Transformers is 75% on Steam today - let's get some multiplayer!
I loved the 360 multiplayer demo but knew it wouldn't catch on. PC version's capped at 30 fps and I heard it doesn't even have a chat window, truly a faithful port.
Tired cynical remarks aside, I actually thought the multiplayer in WFC was fantastic. It borrowed the right elements from established multiplayer games, and when a match was in full force, with a range of classes on the battlefield it was pretty fucking badass. Just a shame it was never able to establish a lasting community.
...My experience comes from the Xbox version, so take that as you will.
@defaulttag: Oh, oh well. I wouldn't have bought it for the singleplayer anyway and I'm not that fond of playing with the last remnants of an almost dead online game, damn shame though.
Bought it the other day on the steam sale, quite enjoying it!
Having trouble hosting games for my friends though. :(
They can't connect. Does anyone know the ports one should open?
Searching around on the net I found people saying ports 6500, 7000, and 13000, but it still doesn't work. :(
the people from 3 months ago are wrong. this game has great multiplayer. i would have bought it on steam but i've had the 360 version since it was new.
Well, it's 75% off on Steam again.
After having played the first chapter I must say that I've been really enjoying the game so far. I'm playing it with 60 FPS (you need to download a patch for it to run with 60 instead of 30) and the smoothness makes all the little environmental animations look pretty amazing. But I'm having one rather big issue... it's really hard to differentiate between the character models and the environment. They payed so much attention to detail and there is so much (almost too much, it's really busy on screen) going on... it's just incredibly hard to see what you are shooting at sometimes, at least for me. I'm still enjoying it, though.
My experiences with this game comes from the SP portion so take it as you will. Personally I found the game to be a disappointment. Boring combat topped with boring environments. They had the chance to really show Cybertron but they opted to show us the endless corridors of Cybertron. Not to mention Megatron's voice was fucking awful. After that I didn't even bothered with the MP.Get this game only if you are hardcore into this franchise and/or have some lingering childhood sentimentality. If your truly interested in a 3rd person shooter then check out Space Marine. Much better game imo.
Sure. Since it's still an active thread on the steampowered forum and the guy who posted it isn't banned it should be fine (I didn't find any viruses and it 100% percent works). I personally won't play multiplayer using it, you never know what you can get banned for on Steam... better safe than sorry. :)@emem: oh there's a 60FPS patch? can you shoot over a link for all us steam-sale suckers? :D
