It's Not Arkham Asylum
Last year a game came out that did something rarely done before, it took an established property and turned into a good game, a very good game. That game was Arkham Asylum. Sadly in some ways thats a curse because it sets the bar high for all the movie/comic/cartoon adaptations that follow it. And this doesn't reach that bar.
It's not that it's a bad game, because it isn't , not really, it's just not a great game, it's nothing you haven't seen before, it's a lot of ideas borrowed from other games with transforming robots wrapped around it, it's bad dialogue thats not good enough to match the bad dialogue of the cartoons, it's voice acting that you don't care about because they didn't get the real voice of Megatron, it's so many points that make you simply think 'hmm'. On top of that several times already I've suffered from glitched scenery that has forced me to reload checkpoints.
The three things I dislike most:
1) The wrong achievements are too easy, I just unlocked an achievement for killing 10 enemies with a gun turrent, 10? have the delopers not played Gears of War 2, or Dead Rising, or Left 4 Dead, I'm not asking for 50,000 but 10? C'mon I got it on the first level, without trying.
2) *SPOILER WARNING* At the end of the first Decepticon level Megatron gets powered up by 'Dark Energon' but doesn't seem any more powerful, but I'll wait because perhaps he does later on.
3) it's not G1. Whoever it is at Activision or whoever told them that nobody wants a G1 Transformers game, fire that person, fire him and shoot his dog ... okay don't shoot the dog thats cruel, but give him a wedgie, and then fire him. If you are listening Activision, if you can make a G1 Transformers game, that is as good as Arkham Asylum, that has as much of the original voice cast, music, look, feel of the original series we all watched as kids, if you can make that game I will buy it, full price, day of release, special edition.
