I just picked up a PS3 recently, and got Uncharted for it.
And maybe this has something to do with expectations, but I was seriously expecting a game with more action, and less, well boring.
Sure the puzzles and all are decent, but the game is so slow, the pacing is horrible.
So am I missing something?
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Oct 13, 2009
Nathan Drake returns to find the lost secret of Marco Polo, in this sequel to the 2007 sleeper hit Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Why the hype over Uncharted 2?
It's a well made game with solid pacing and fantastic characters. It also has a fun "Indian Jones" style story that's very charming. The gameplay is tight, the graphics are still great looking. Gush, gush, gush, etc...
I played through the game 5 times. I really love everything about it, despite some problems here and there. I recommend that you keep on playing because there is a crazy twist torwards the end of the game.
This is one of my favourite games of all time. It truly is amazing, but I always thought alot of 360 fanboys wouldn't like it regardless.
I didn't love Uncharted as much as some people, mostly because of the annoyances with the gunplay and how the platforming and gunplay almost never came together, but if you watch a couple of seconds of video on Uncharted 2 you'll see those things seem to be fixed. Plus 2 looks even more gorgeous than the first.
Uncharted Is among my favorite games ever, I love the setting, the characters, the story, the graphics, the gameplay so that why I am looking forward to the second one
The Jak games are also among my favorite games ever because of all of the above reasons too^^ Naughty Dog is an amazing developer
I love Uncharted as well. The only part I hated was the game froze at the ultra climactic moment when Drake is running down the hall way before he gets into the Submarine base control room. I almost threw my controller!!! It totally destroyed the momentum that was building up to that moment.
Well, it's visually stunning with the way Nathan moves and seeing some of the video of gameplay, the character is a little more established through his actions and the witty dialog. These could be just my feelings, but I love how there is a legitimate Action-Adventure story driven by a solid character in a video game because this sub-genre hasn't made quite as much of an impact as I want it to. ForOverall, this is the game driving me to want to buy a PS3 right now.
I give Uncharted 4/5 stars. It doesn't do anything super amazing, but everything is just really polished well. The story and characters are likable and very fun. It's basically Indiana Jones.
I dont own an Xbox360, but I did not enjoy Uncharted. There were just better games out, and there still are.
However, Uncharted 2 seems to take a different route, and this route seems more exciting, better -paced, and any problems which are valid will probably be addressed by Naughty Dog, who are good at what they do.
The main draw for most people about Uncharted is how well-executed everything is. If you pay attention to the polish of a game, Uncharted gets better every time you play it. The sequel shows even more polish and attention to detail while fixing some of the first game's problems like the juxstaposing of gunplay and platforming or the looseness of the shooting.
Boring? You're kidding right. I can't even imagine what you think is fun if you think Uncharted is boring. Maybe you just haven't played enough.
I didn't like the first Uncharted all that much, either, but I can see why a lot of people would. The characters are great, and the gameplay was a lot of fun. Even though I wasn't all that interested in the first one, a sequel has me curious. Uncharted was a pretty average game to me, but only because there were a lot of small things that irked me enough to quit playing it. Fixing all those little things could make a far better game though, so I'm pretty curious to see what Naughty Dog comes up with.

I haven't completed it. Infact, i got very bored in the first couple of hours to care about playing it more.
I just think that it does a lot of things very mediocre. Every mechanic it has, is done better in so many other games
Cover - Better in Gears
Shooting - Better in every 3rd person shooter
Platforming - Better in PoP, Assasins' Creed,
So the question still stands ..... whats so great?

Huh. I think it's been pretty unanimous since the game's release that the super-easy puzzles were the worst part of that game.
"I have a hard time believing you played it, let alone own a PS3."
Whatever dude. I have Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Uncharted (came with the package) and inFamous. Like inFamous and Ninja Gaiden, but don't like uncharted.
The reason i brought up the topic, is because everyone is hailing Uncharted2 as the best PS3 game at E3, and I just don't know why, cause the first one just didn't impress me.
Dont Care if you belive me

They have more satisfying guns and better feedback. Guns have pop
If you haven't played Gears, i just can't explain it, but the cover system is head and shoulders above anything (and certainly much better than Uncharted)

And you think uncharted's cover system is better?
All players in gears have a feeling of weight, when the go into cover, it feels like they are running for their lives and need to hit the cover. Makes it more real. Thats just one thing. The movement from cover to cover, or cover to run is seamless, basecally, it just move as expected. Uncharted just felt clunky.
And shoothing wise, the guns in Uncharted just sound and feel hollow.
Again, just opinion .... many of my friends who play gears with me recommended Uncharted, so there must be something to it ..... Not my kind of game, i guess.
"From my experience, I saw a game that had solid gameplay, awesome characters, satisfying plat forming with a good mix of shooting in there. This game and killzone are the only 2 games so far to make me put down my xbox controller."
I'm borrowing Killzone 2 today from a friend. Hope i Like it, I'm pretty fond of FPS games.

This just prooves you don't get it. You named games that are specialising into these very specific game mechanics and you're comparing it to a game who's doing all of them not perfectly, but pretty darn good. You got platforming in gears? no, Shooting in PoP or Assasins?
Also, i can't believe you can't notice the superior animation, the great voice acting, the fantastic music.
Look just face it. You tried it, you don't like it, that's it. There obviously no discussion here plus you seem a bit stubborn about it so why don't we move on?
dude i loved loved loved that game.
