Uncharted 3 is a game that does the impossible. It has managed to improve upon Uncharted 2, a game that was as close to perfect as you can get, Uncharted 3 is proof of how talented Naughty Dog is, improving upon something that was so refined and perfect. All aspects of this game from it's breath taking graphics, excellent game play, amazing storyline and characters, and it's expansive multiplayer are perfectly crafted. Uncharted 3 is another masterpiece and a game that future generations will enjoy.

To start off we need to talk about the graphics, if you thought Uncharted 2's graphics were the best, you are in for a huge surprise. Uncharted 3 is easily the best looking game ever made, it looks better than Uncharted 2 and any other graphic powerhouse out there. It also has great art direction to boot, everything is so detailed, it's insane! Sand flies across the desert in the wind and you can see the sand particles getting stuck on Drake's hair and clothes and skin, sunlight shines peacefully through beautiful trees, water flows and glares realistically, you could not ask for a better looking game. Uncharted 3 is proof that the PS3 has plenty of power left, and the best part is, Uncharted 3 plays as amazing as it looks!

The game begins after the events in Uncharted 2, Drake and Sully are in London and are on their way to do a trade with a mysterious group, without spoiling too much things don't work out quite right and a bar fight ensues. The first thing you'll notice is how much more improved the hand to hand combat is compared to it's predecessors; you can throw kicks and punches, counters, grabs, and other attacks all with great ease. It feels more similar to the combat system in the Batman Arkham games, which is good thing. Another thing you will notice is how amazing the character animations are, not just in fighting either but in general terms of walking around and climbing etc....every movement of the character's bodies are precise and realistic, you can tell Naughty Dog paid great attention to the animations. This makes the experience in Uncharted 3 even better!

After the bar fight, you will meet Uncharted 3's main antagonist, Katherine Marlow, a mysterious and very dangerous woman who has a sinister connection with Drake's past. Without spoiling anything, you will discover that Marlow's group is looking for the lost city known as The Atlantis of The Sands, and that prompts your crew to beat them in the search. The storyline still retains the classic Uncharted humor and Drakes quirky jokes, but this time around it's more serious and reveals a lot more about the characters and their relationships with one another. This makes Uncharted 3 all the more interesting, and you will love the characters even more! Other familiar faces are back, Drakes love interest Elena, the sultry Chloe, and a new comer known as Cutler. All of the voices are done by professional actors, and it shows. Each line of dialog is believable and contains emotion, these characters really come to life.

The Single Player will take you around 10-12 hours to finish, depending on the difficulty. The campaign is so great that, much like the other Uncharted games before it, you will play through it again and again. Uncharted 3 has so much variety, you will spend on chapter investigating an old castle in the French forest, another will have you sneaking aboard an air plane, and another will have you desperately escaping from pirates in the middle of the ocean! The epic moments in Uncharted 3 never stop coming, each chapter and moment will stay in your mind and you will want to relive them over and over.

There are also treasures to find once again, so those will keep you occupied plenty. Outside of the epic Single Player is the Multi Player. This is similar to the great multiplayer that was found in Uncharted 2, but it is far more expansive and improved this time around. Packed full of features, modes, and unlockables, Uncharted 3's multiplayer has more than enough to keep you busy for a LONG time! You have various competitive modes from free for all and team death match, to Idol Capture and more! Coop makes a return as well, but it's even better thanks to it's many variations and great team based quality. Up to 3 players can play them and it has it's own unique story line, set in an alternative story Eddie, Harry Flin, and Lazaravich have joined forces to capture a legendary treasure and kill Drake and his friends.

You will fight through levels from all Uncharted games, not just Uncharted 3, but each one has it's own unique twists. One coop level will have you captured by enemies and tied to posts, where you have to make your escape as quickly as possible, another will have you fight your way through a subway tunnel through hordes of enemies, and much more! There are also other coop modes you can play, such as the survival mode but this time it changes things up a bit by changing the objectives after each wave, one wave will have you defend a small area together while the next may have you go where you please, this keeps things fresh and puts players on their toes, never knowing what to expect. Uncharted 3's multiplayer also has tons of things to unlock, from new characters, weapon upgrades, boosters (Perks), and much, much more! Uncharted 3's multiplayer is quite addicting and it will keep you coming back time and time again.

    Final Verdict:

Uncharted 3 is an epic adventure that you would be a fool to miss. And while no game is perfect, Uncharted 3 is as close to perfection as you can get. Uncharted 3 doesn't just live up to the hype, it has raised it once again to an even higher level. Uncharted 3, much like it's past installments, is a game that everyone needs to play.

      A mixed bag 0

Let me say straight away that Uncharted 2 is my favourite game of all time so Uncharted 3 had a lot to live up to. Reading other reviews of the game, with a general consensus of "more of the same", I was hugely looking forward to this. After just completing it however I have to say that it most certainly isn't Uncharted 2.2, it's more like Uncharted 1.7.Let me start with the good : when Uncharted 3 gets it right nothing else can touch it. The standout moment for me is the cargo plane sequence wh...

The one ring to rule them all. 0

For what it was, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was near perfect in my honest opinion. It bridged a chasm of platforming, shooting, puzzle and some occasional stealth obstacles, all smoothly fitted and handled like a dream (well, some of the stealth stuff was a little kooky). The storyline wasn't particularly deep, but it had style, flair and a great cast of characters. It's completely subjective of course, but many would likely consider Uncharted 2 as one of the greatest games of this current gener...
