I've only played the first at a friend's place, until I got a PS3 with the second one bundled.
I've noticed in the second that a lot of it is picking when to engage and when to take cover. I ran through the game on Very Easy and just punched my way through it; in preparation for U3, I'm running it again on Hard (and later Crushing, if I'm really bored).
Any tips to make these runs easier, duders?
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Game » consists of 11 releases. Released Nov 19, 2007
Become Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter and descendant of famed explorer Sir Francis Drake as he searches for the lost treasure of El Dorado.
I finally beat Uncharted! I regret playing this game!
I just finished it and loved it, the shooting wasn't as bad as everyone says, you just have to shoot people in the head. It also has the honor of first game I have finished for the ps3, so yay I guess.
After reading some of the comments on this thread, it cracks me up how much torture and misery some people will put themselves through in a game just to get some stupid "trophy." LOL
Uncharted 2 makes everything better, seriously.
I played them backwards, and it was sooo painful. The grenade throwing in 1 is so fucking bad compared to 2, which they nailed perfectly once they got rid of the stupid forced SixAxis control.
Still managed to Platinum both games though.
How dare you! Haha but seriously has it aged that bad guys? I haven't played it since it was released but damn I thought it was awesome back then! You should play uncharted 2 that was a beast. Or just go back to your gears of war.
I had more issues with the fact that the German zombie supernatural bullshit just popped out of nowhere towards the latter half of the game. Uncharted was a good game, Uncharted 2 was an awesome game. Uncharted 3 will hopefully end on a high note (assuming it's the last game in the main series which I doubt).
Uncharted was great but it did have as you said, bullet sponge enemies and that whole thing at the end with those super natural enemies just killed the immersion for me. You should totally play Uncharted 2 though, i played through 1, went straight onto 2 thinking i was going to get sick of it and i couldnt have been more wrong.
When did you play it? I played it a couple of years after it came out and the Sixaxis was set to off by default. Except for those shitty balance beam sections.@EVO: really? I tried looking for it back when I was playing U1, could not find it. I know it is optional in U2, and defaults to the superior grenade throwing controls.

i feel like at a certain point, it's naughty dog's fault for not letting people know that the game is much easier if you treat the pistols as your primary weapon slot, and the shotgun/ak-47 type weapons as blindfiring bullethoses
Pretty much this. Much easier to get headshots. Hell, besides getting the Easy and Normal trophy, the last one I got was to get 100 Headshots. It did have its overly frustrating moments though. Mainly the ship sequences. To me it felt that there was too much enemies attacking you than bullet sponges.
