    Kind of a HOT(land) Mess

With GOTY over there was a lot of talk about this game on just about or if not every podcast for GOTY, so I decided to check it out and play through it. I'll make a long story short in that is this a contender for game of the year for me? (Mind you I didn't play a lot of games that came out this year) No. I this one of the best games I played? No. Is this a good game? Yes, this game is quite a good game, but that doesn't mean it has big problems.

The biggest problem of this game is that it doesn't explain the main mechanics of the game. It took me until maybe the first boss for me to notice that you could move the your heart around to dodge the attacks. Maybe I missed it, but for a game not to tell you that you can avoid attacks which is the key mechanic of the game is a huge problem. The other mechanic that they don't tell you is the ACT, in which you can choose not to fight the monsters and not kill them. For me it was already too late since even though I didn't really know much about the end, I knew where this was going. Going back if I understood the ACT I would have spared every monster in the game instead of killing all of them.

There's also a lot not going on in which you are just wondering around and it slows the game down dramatically. The character moves a bit slow for me too which is a minor problem.

The mechanics of the attack and dodge the attacks of the monsters I actually liked a lot. It's not only fun to do, but also you want to see what the next attack they do just to see the different animations and sprites you have to dodge.

The humor in the game is tongue and cheek, not laugh out laugh, but more of a "oh that funnys" saying to yourself. The music in the game is really really good, I just wish you can could have heard the music in the beginning more in the game itself.

I was really digging Undertale in the beginning, but as the game progressed I was forcing myself to finish. The dialogue boxes during Hotland where someone is updating there status, was one of the most annoying parts in any video game I played. The joke wasn't funny and it went on for way too long. The game overall has problems with just getting into the game if you know before hand what they are, you will have a good time with the battles and the commentary they are shooting for.

Best Game I'd Ever Return 0

It's kind of impossible to talk about Undertale without acknowledging what it does differently; there isn't a game out there that has a battle system quite like this one. Unless you "play the game wrong," it plays almost like a visual novel by selecting actions and seeing how the monster responds before smash cutting to inventive bullet hell-like segments. All this with the sole motivation not of killing, but of making friends. It is, after all, the game where you don't have to kill anyone. Some ...

      Unbelievably lovely 0

So... I just got to the very end of this game and, Wow. I just had to give my wholehearted recommendation as soon as I can, because, I mean, wow.I had pretty high expectations going into this game. I played the demo and even paid three times the minimum asking price into its Kickstarter. Still, it waaaay exceeded my expectations in a pretty incredible way. I had some doubts based on early previews, but I'm glad they did not turn out true.Undertale is a game about love and compassion. It is an Ea...
