    Creation and Appearance

    Created by Roy Thomas and Frank Robbins, Union Jack was introduced to readers in Invaders Issue #7 (1976). An operative in World War 1, Lord James Montgomery Falsworth worked as Union Jack until the end of the war, where he retired.

    In 1977, Thomas and Robbins would bring back Union Jack, this iteration would be known as Destroyer in Invaders #18.

    The Destroyer's alter ego was Falsworth's son, Brian Falsworth. Brian would eventually take over as Union Jack until the 1980's when Roger Stern and John Byrne updated the character and backstory in Captain America Issue #254 (1981). This third person to take the role of Union Jack is now Joseph Chapman.
