Overview
Vampire Survivors is a 2D comedic horror-themed shooter developed and digitally published by poncle for the PC (Platform) and Mac (Platform) on October 20, 2022, with an Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One (Platform) release on November 10, 2022, an Android (Platform) and iOS release on December 8, 2022, a Nintendo Switch (Platform) release on August 17, 2023, and a PlayStation 5 (Platform) and PlayStation 4 (Platform) release on August 29, 2024. It was originally released as demo for browsers on March 31, 2021 before receiving an Early Access release on December 17, 2021.
A comedic parody of Konami's Castlevania (Franchise) series, Vampire Survivors tasks players with trying to endure half-hour one-life sessions against numerous hordes of monsters, where they level up to acquire and upgrade new weapons and boosts. Similar to other action "rogue-lites" (such as the Binding of Isaac series), players earn new weapons, boosts, characters, stages, and gameplay features through repeat plays.
Unique to this game is its "automatic" combat, where the player's character automatically fires all of their weapons (up to six at a time) at regular intervals. Unlike twin-stick shooters, players cannot manually aim and must use movement to position their character, collect Experience Gems and other pick-ups, and avoid being overrun.
The game received multiple post-release updates and themed DLC expansions, including crossovers with other game franchises (such as Among Us (Game), Contra (Franchise), and Castlevania (Franchise)).

Stages
There are five main stages and several bonus ones:
- Mad Forest - Slower movement speed.
- Inlaid Library - Stage scrolls horizontally.
- Dairy Plant - +20% Gold.
- Gallo Tower - Stage scrolls vertically. +30% Gold.
- Capella Magna - Rather than ending with the Reaper, the game ends with a final boss fight against an amalgamation of all Reapers. Faster movement speed. +40% Gold.
Bonus Stages
Unlocking Hyper Mode in each of the five main stages progressively unlocks the following:
- Il Molise - A short-length stage set in an open field, where all enemies are fauna that do not move (instead multiplying closer to the player).
- Green Acres - An open field where each enemy wave is randomly chosen from all unlocked stages. Enemies also start with +50% health.
- The Bone Zone - A cavern where all enemies are different types of skeletons and bone monsters. Breakable objects only drop Gold. Enemies get tougher over time. +50% Gold.
- Moongolow - A short-length stage set in a city lost underwater. Several items are dropped as pick-ups near the spawn. Faster movement speed. Clearing it for the first time unlocks its terrible secret.
- Boss Rash - A short-length enclosed arena fight including boss enemies from all stages. Pressure plates can either fast-forward time or respawn the wave. Enemies also start with +50% health.
Completing certain stages in Inverse Mode unlock the following three stages, which are slightly shorter in length and grant +30% Gold (at the cost of having all enemies get tougher over time).
- Bat Country - Somewhat a parody of Sonic the Hedgehog (Franchise), but with every enemy as swarms of bats (and, as a result, gives a XP penalty).
- Astral Stair - A special enclosed stage consisting of rooms that are accessed with doors. Along with special types of enemies, it features the Gold Finger pickup, which gives a short spree of temporary invincibility, minimum cooldown, and boosted enemy spawning and gives a reward based on the spree's performance.
- Tiny Bridge - A cramped bridge that scrolls horizontally.
After certain points, players can enter the Eudaimonia Machine stage to unlock certain Relics. At a certain point, however, it becomes a stage for the true final boss fight.

Stage Modifiers
The game also includes unlockable stage modifiers:
- Hyper - Hastens the movement speed of both the player character and all enemies, as well as the speed of the player's projectiles. It also gives a +50% Gold Bonus, with certain stages also making the enemies tougher.
- Hurry - Doubles the speed of the game's clock for a quicker game, also increasing the enemy spawn rate and XP gained.
- Arcanas - Enables use of special unlockable gameplay modifiers.
- Limit Break - Instead of choosing between Gold Bags and Floor Chicken when leveling up after maxing out all items, players instead over-level certain stats for each of their weapons.
- Inverse - Rotates the stage up-side down while giving enemies +200% health. In addition, it gives a +200% Gold Bonus and a +20% Luck Bonus.
- Endless - Instead of summoning the Reaper at the final minute, the game "restarts" the enemy spawning back to the earliest while making them tougher.
