Jaffe and crew really are making all the right choices with this game. Live action cutscenes, full blown multiplayer, a legit campaign with a story integrated with all the characters, amazing boss fights, and that mix of Twisted Metal 2 and Black.

It will definitely be the best Twisted Metal ever.

Also, fuck yeah Dragula by Rob Zombie.

My friends and I played Twisted Metal 2: World Tour split screen to death and I really did enjoy the whole grimdark Se7en wannabe style of Black. If they manage to mix those two games together properly than this is gonna be great

Dear God I can't wait for this game. I'm anticipating this more than I did much of the late 2011 releases.

Also, Brothers Grimm... That is incredible. GIANT Monster Trucks. Boss Fight or special vehicle like the 18-wheeler 'Juggernaut'? Can't waaait :D

I'm not sure how I feel about a rasta Mr. Grimm, but the game play looks pretty damned awesome. I thought they said there wasn't going to be any destructible environments, but I guess that has changed. One of the best things about that suburban stage in Black was that you could get the farris wheel rolling around causing havoc. I'm real glad to see that's in this game too!

There is a ton of content that this game offers, and most of it is new. The biggest push they have been making is online multiplayer. What is nostalgic about that?

It's not just this trailer that stinks, their whole campaign has been revoltingly nauseating since day one.

In this reveal from last year, the two actors are literally reminiscing about the so-called glory days of car combat games. Well woop-de-doo! I wonder why they don't exist anymore!? And this isn't the first time a Twisted Metal game will be online, they've done it twice before.

As for your question, the problem with nostalgia is that it's just plain lazy. It's just another case of publishers looking through their back catalog to see what IPs they can suck dry. They're doing it to X-Com, Syndicate is being fucked in the ass, Twisted Metal is just the next in line - with the exception that they haven't even bothered to "reboot" the franchise and are instead banking on the infantile gameplay of the 90s that we have all long since grown out of.

There's a reason these games aren't popular any more, and Twisted Metal won't somehow bring it back to life again. I'd laugh at the fact that they're trying to compete with COD, BF3 or even Halo, but I'll (probably) feel sorry for the dev team instead once the reviews come rolling in. But never mind that, they've still got pre-order bonuses!

I just don't understand people like you. Focus on anything and everything negative that you can, and then develop assumptions based on all that negativity.

It's like... you want yourself to not like the game, for no reason. Why hate on something before it's even out, when you can't even play the game to back up your opinion.

It's not that these games aren't popular, it's just that Twisted Metal was the king of car combat, and Jaffe, Scott Campbell, and the other original team members haven't worked on a TM game in a long time.

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time arguing with you, when you seriously tried to accuse this game of competing with CoD and Halo, then assumed this game was going to get bad reviews, and tried to make a stab because it has pre-order bonuses. It's obvious your opinion has already scarred over and can't be healed. You've convinced yourself to believe in everything you've stated as if it were fact, and won't allow anyone to prove you wrong.

I'm sorry. I love games, I always have. If a dev wants to make another game in a franchise that means a lot to me, I say bring it on.
