I played Analogue: A Hate Story and it was a unexpectedly enjoyable experience. I would recommand it to anyone who likes visual novels. It was well written.

I am looking forward to this :'D

Is Digital: A Love Story required viewing before starting this series?

Not excited enough to pay for it, but I'm interested to hear what people think about it after playing Analogue itself.

No. Digital has nothing to do with Analogue.

I played the first two, they were pretty good.

Same. I picked it up for dirt cheap during a sale just because and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I really got into the story and was legitimately bummed out when I finished it (for like the 3rd or 4th time lol) and I just wanted more because it was just that good.

I always thought it was a mistake of her to name the second (well, third) game that way.

A)Digital's title was actually fitting, Analogue's is not.

B)"A Love Story" is a pun/literal (same with "love conquers all")

C)Naming Analogue this way just confuses people.

I hope this one is a little bit longer than the last one. A 45 minute game that cost $10 rubbed me the wrong way a little last time...

I loved Hate. I bought it on steam for my laptop, and was blown away by the emotinal impact. It is not for every one, granted, and you have to be in a certan mood. But I definatly enjoyed it. Also I like that this trailer took my ending into account. ( the *Huyn-ae end )

I picked up A Hate Story during the summer sale since I've liked Christine's other games, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. I'll need to get on that before Hate Plus comes out!

I liked the first, so I'm excited for this.

I don't think the anime style really fits with the rest of the thematics, though.

Analogue was one of my top 10 games of last year, so I am super excited for this and I'm equally excited for the soundtrack because Analogue has one of my favorite game soundtracks.

Could not penetrate the first game (and I actively enjoy visual novels), so this has little chance in interesting me.

I do want to try and revisit the original at some point though and see if I can't 'get it' more this time.

And Digital is free and always has been free. I also had a playtime in Analogue of 4 to 5 hours, because I dug into every file and wanted to explore that story to it's fullest.

Can't wait!

I got a kick out of the original, even though I could've done without the anime-girl stuff (in terms of emotional expression/dialogue more than the actual visuals), but on the other hand, 'It Just Ain't Your Story, Babe' really soured me on Christine Love's work. Considering the title, maybe that's deliberate, but still... rrghh. I still get angry thinking about that game.

Whatever, I'll still probably end up checking this out.

My lame attempt at humor aside, I'm totally down for Hate+. Analogue was so unique that I couldn't help but exhaust it by absorbing absolutely everything about it. Man, I need more good VNs in my life.

Analogue was really awesome and unique - definitely not a run-of-the-mill visual novel. It had a huge emotional impact - at one point, made me feel a level of anger I hadn't felt for a very long time. Didn't really know a game could do that to me. I really enjoyed the slow discovery of what really happened on the ship, and the interactivity was interesting (not "MAKE OUT WITH ANIME LADY A / MAKE OUT WITH ANIME LADY B") without overshadowing the game itself.

The music was pretty awesome in the first game (Rescue and The Smiths are my jams!), and it looks like it's going to be even better in this one.

I would highly recommend trying to finish it at least once, when you get the time. Or maybe try Digital: A Love Story? I believe it's quite a bit shorter (a couple hours iirc) and the gameplay is fascinating (dialing into BBSes and such). The themes are pretty different from Analogue, but it might give you an idea of whether you'll like Analogue.

@thankyougiantbomb: That's one of the reason's I was shocked I couldn't get into Analogue. I absolutely loved Digital: A Love Story and was looking forward to what the developer did next.

I do intend to return to Analogue at some point though. I think the early bits of it didn't grab my attention, so I lost interest. Just need to make a point of getting past that stuff to see what else the game has to offer.

I kinda liked Analogue though the hide-and-seek look for the one letter that progresses the story kinda bugged me. Was like "where the hell's that email?!"

Analogue certainly wasn't without its faults, but the typey-typey sequence near the end managed to make me feel like a badass super hacker even though I was just typing in commands. Looks like more of a game this time. Pretty hyped.

Might need to go back to the first game and make character profiles or something. I know it sounds really ethnocentric, but I had a hard time with the Korean names.

Looking forward to this. I'm a big fan of both Analogue and Digital, so I'm always excited when Christine Love had something new coming out. Replaying Analogue now to refresh my memory on the story.

The DOS-prompt like interface, the AIs, the investigation... Was the first game of its kind that I played and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I saw your avatar and I just have to say that my brain thinks it makes perfect sense for Shodan to be exited about this game.

Can't remember which one I played, but I didn't mind it. The timer hindered my enjoyment though.

Main love interest wasn't a virgin, so why would I ever want to play this again? I don't like used goods fantasy girls.

@afrofools: Hate Story had a timer, but just for one sequence maybe a third of the way through. Once you got past that part, you could continue using only one of the AIs, no more timer.

I was surprised at how much I liked that one. Love Story, not as much, but still okay.

Very excited to play this! The only thing I am uncertain about is that it will apparently take 3 real-time days to complete, if what she says is true. I don't know how that will work, but I'm a bit iffy about it. I just hope it works, because I adored the first game.

I actually played a lot of this game, but then I lost my save files somehow... :-( Not the kind of game I want to start over. So weird and interesting though.

The lyrics of that song are pretty fucking ludicrous.

The achievement names and descriptions are one of the best parts of analogue.

Cool to see coverage of it on here. The original is great but with one caveat: If *Hyun-ae gets on your nerves then speak more with *Mute. Difference of night and day between those two.
