I wonder if the developers are aware that the Forest Abkhazia shares a name with a disputed region in the Caucasus, which is either an independent state or a part of Georgia depending on who you ask.

Patrick every time you show up on the site in video form I have to say "do more of that!" and "Alex should consider doing something like this." This is great, love it. Keep it up and do more of it.

Immediately after watching this live I played an hour of it. It's so much fun.

Hedgehog curse is hilarious on Brad. He gets so paranoid about being hit, and proceeds to get hit way more often by making tons of simple mistakes and chasing gold.

I like watching Rogue Legacy more than I like playing it

Brad kinda fucked himself by buying so many health upgrades, now everything costs so much because the prices go up each upgrade, it'll take him forever to fully upgrade his castle. If i was him i would just start over.

I really can't get enough of Patrick in my content. I wonder if he could be part of the occasional quick look in this format. The two second or so delay is a little annoying, but definitely worth it for the Scoops.

Brad, only you would go into the castle with an archmage and not use a single spell :) Fun to watch this game, makes me excited to play it - and yeah, how about a Vita version?

Yea... everything is so expensive now. I'm not sure that Brad realizes how much more expensive everything is now, as Patrick didn't really explain that.

The thing that I think helped me a lot was putting money into the increased gold find, and that is probably already too expensive for him to ever afford. Barbarian is probably the way to go if he wants to keep at it since it capitalizes on his already high hp.

As Patrick said, it's pretty cool how people value different strategies. Like I found the blob boss a lot more managable since I was using vampiric runes. Great game.

I hate that the game doesn't tell you that the little plus marks on the castle screen and the exclamation points over the blacksmith and the sorceress mean that you can buy something. At one point Brad just runs past the sorceress when he could have bought something and it's painful.

You should avoid buying unnecessary runes early on. Just buy 1 or 2 vampirism runes and all 5 of the bounty runes. Save the gold for equipment and stat bonuses.

Doesn't the exclamation mark mean that they have a new item (one that you have picked up but haven't gone to look at)?

I was sitting here watching it and just screaming at Patrick's strategies, until he said how different people can have different viable strategies, which made me think.

Still, I put three runes into bounty, one into vampire and one into vault (double jump) early on, all my points into strength and health, and played it that way. Then late game when I'd upgraded my gold upgrade in my castle, I changed runes from bounty into vampire, and cleared the castle out a few times. Made it much easier for me.

My priority for classes would have to be Barbarian or Hokage, then Paladin, then Assassin. After that I would just play whatever I got and hope for the best, but I usually got one of those four. I found the miner useless for me, because I would often die so quickly with it that the bonus gold actually meant nothing.

Oh and the one time I got that stupid "guess the chest" room correct, I had 15000 gold and just did it, and guessed right. So happy.

Damn this game looks better and better the more I see of it. Top 10 goty candidate for Giant Bomb? I think this is the best year for video games in a long time, so many really, really good games this year. Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Rogue Legacy, Fire Emblem, etc and then we still have GTA 5, Saints Row 4 and a bunch of next gen games coming.. hot damn. Gonna have to pick this up whenever I see a sale for it.

Hedgehog's curse is awesome, the amount of gold that flies away is more than what you actually lose once you upgrade the +gold upgrade in the castle. Other gold increasing stats also factor in this.

Couple that with a bit of lifeleech and decent defense upgrade/equip and you can farm gold from yourself.

And you do not lose Gold on the killing hit, you can check it in the video (52:10). But it's kind of bad to have for a bossfight.

Brad is remarkably good at Rogue Legacy given how early he is. I'm in the middle of NG+ and still impressed, go deep Brad!

Brad's expenses on health is fine because it allows more room for error, which is useful for learning enemy and boss patterns or opening trap-surrounded chests. Armor is uneffective in this game and more health makes food more potent and also leaves rooms for vampirism armor pieces incase you want vampirism(although I prefer vampirism in runes).

If it means Brad can clean the castle area and make to the forest and loot everything, he should make enough money to raise the gold upgrades to max, after which getting gold is easy without needing miners/spelunkers or gold armor/runes.

I put points into armor almost all the time and had only 5 in health until I had a hard time fighting the 4th boss and its area, and realized how much my 200 defense actually blocked(It's unintuitively low). I bumped my life by 15 levels and my survival rate increased tenfold on any class, making me regret I didn't put more points into life earlier. It was a revelation to me how much it changes the experience.

Really, Rogue Legacy is a game of patience, which I assume Brad exhibits more of when he's not on camera (at some point in the stream he clearly stopped even trying to earn money because he seemed determined to just do something bold to entertain the stream). Sprinting for the forest (like Brad was doing) is ill-advised, as you're better off clearing out the entire castle every run, ideally saving enough that you can start upgrading gold gain. Even if he can't, hopefully he has a bounty rune or two he could buy.
