BioShock Infinite: Infinite Spoilers!

This was fantastic! I loved watching Vinny play through the ending while the crew talked about it.

I wanted Vinny to mash X more. He skipped over so many items and item boxes without picking stuff up. When I played I just mashed X over every object and dead body. I didn't look to see what it was I picked up, just that I did.

Is there going to be an audio version of this?

Yup, this was a good one. There was some great discussion all the way through about bioshock, especially at the end of the video. Really thought provoking stuff. In the end I have to agree with Brad and Patrick, Ken Levine shouldn't make another "shock" game. At the very least one that doesn't have a man, city, and lighthouse. Let this be the end of it.

Mind you, I think he does great work. Do another game if you want Mr.Levine. But lets close the book on the shock series.

Vinny's style of spazzing about during important scenes is great but also kind of frustrating.

I wouldn't call it frustrating because I know what happens but it is interesting that he kind of "ruins" scenes for himself.

Missed this live because I was busy beating the game. I saw Jeff's tweet and I was like "fuck, no way I'm beating this in 10 minutes." But now I'm done, so time to watch.

Edit: Holy shit, just started watching, and Vinny is literally at the part I was at when I saw Jeff's tweet about the live show starting. He's at least 2 hrs from the end based on how I played (which is very slowly).

This one is going to be GLOOOORIOUS! I can't wait to watch it.

This is by far one of the greatest games I've played. I love the narrative, characters and the overall atmosphere of the Bioshock games. Following that, I love how you guys did the commentary will Vinny was playing through the game, this concept is defiantly something I'd love to see more of, too bad there are not a lot of games out there that have such a thought provoking story to discuss.

I am so glad I finished the final book of the Dark Tower series a month ago, because they totally spoil some stuff in this discussion.

Oh, by the way, it would be nice for next time, if you put the person playing in a well lit room, so we can see their facial expressions...

If some dude can write a book about Spec Ops, I should write on one this game, because the possibilities for interpretation are endless.

also yeah, the whole infinite lighthouses sent memories of dark tower rushing back (though i always have that series in the back of my mind so w/e...), so i'm so glad they picked up on that.

My two cents? This is a towering achievement in artistry and fiction, not just video games. completely enthralling from beginning to end. Hell, completely enthralling even when I wasn't playing it and now that I'm finished with it, it just sticks with me. Astounding.

I don't get how Vinny uses Possession so much. I found it to be pretty useless, however that was on Hard.

yeah it was really a game where i was sad that it was over. still not sure where i stand on booker though. he did some really shitty things and had shitty motivations, but there's also a ton of remorse behind him and they do paint his character well.

I really don't consider the end of this game a "mindfuck" aside from the odd part here and there that I haven't entirely put together I thought it was all extremely well constructed and foreshadowed. Loved it.

I really don't consider this game's linearity a negative at all, particularly with the way the game offers a magnitude of opportunities to explore your environment and enter little optional spaces. Bioshock Infinite's brand of linearity is perfectly fine. "Painfully linear" is a crazy way to describe it.

But then I never felt that the combat wasn't a primary reason for playing Bioshock Infinite, or that it was something I needed to slog through.

this is kinda making me want to play through it again. must resist, such a huge backlog, must try to get back into dark souls, aaarrrgghhh....

I'm glad they talked about how poor that Lady Comstock section is. It was easily the weakest part of the game for me.

I pretty much used possession and crows almost exclusively on hard and found it really effective, especially once I maxed out my salts.

I'm finding myself doing the same thing in 1999 mode, even tho I've been trying to switch it up to other vigors.

Whenever I used Possession on turrets they just ended up being immediately destroyed. So I ended up using Lightning, Crows, and Bucking Bronco.

The guy hitting himself in the face with the stick was great.

Other than early in the game, I rarely used possession on turrets, I always used it on firemen, patriots and the crow dudes to whittle away at the grunts while I took the bigger guys down.

I don't think I got that upgrade. Or I did, and forgot you could use it on people.

Brad nitpicking the game is a bit funny.

I used bucking bronco, crows, shock jockey and undertow pretty much equally and constantly, bucking bronco and just undertowing guys off the edge for insta kills was awesome, also sometimes I would use bucking bronco then electrocute then set them on fire then send crows on them while they were still in the air and no enemies would live through it.

So this is a spoiler cast i am just ask this question, but during the last seen with all the Elizabeth's didn't it imply that booker became comstock after his baptism and he took Elizabeth through that portal to protect her?

I personally think Comstock just wanted a child that had his genes because Comstock had became infertile, the Luteces figured out how to go through different instances to find the version of Booker that didn't get baptised and therefore had a child.

That's quite an opinion. I thought it was intellectually on par with a good episode of Sliders or Dr. Who. Or even mid-to-upper tier TNG. It doesn't even begin to stack up against the best sci-fi novels.

i love this. at first i was like, why aren't they just doing a bombcast spoilercast in the same vein as the MGS4 spoilercast? but the commentary over vinny playing the back-half of the game is so much better!

I would love the DLC to play as the instance of Comstock who got baptised and went on to create columbia and take Anna from the instance of Booker who didn't get baptised. Don't even need any combat just make it like the first\final 30 minutes of Infinite.

Man, hearing them talk about how it's not worth it to take out the zeppelins by hand (or for a while, that you even could) was crazy to listen to. The cooldown on using Songbird to take those down may as well be forever. It's so much better to just skyhook up there and take it out by hand, then use Songbird to take out the two Patriots and all the dudes down below, and you'll feel way more badass doing that because you're managing the battle so much more kinetically.
