Borderlands 2 Teaser

Well that showed absolutely nothing.  Seriously, teaser trailers, why do they even bother?
 
Dual-wield guns, great. Borderlands was good, but I'm hardly stoked for this, yet. I'll wait for game play footage, or some previews at the very least.

Also word of Gearbox says that the guy that looks like a dwarf, is in fact a dwarf.

My critique of this teaser:

The first 12.5% of it (the ESRB logo) was positively riveting.

The 22% of it that was titles and logos was very informative, and told me much that I didn't already know about who's making the game, publishing it, and the target platforms, year of release, etc.

The 10% at the end about facebook fell a little flat for me, and I just couldn't get into it.

The remaining few seconds convinced me that people will buy this game.

You would have to be an idiot to purchase this game day 1. Borderlands had 40$ worth of DLC, 2 of them came with the malicious SONY SECUrom messing up people's computers and all for a shallow herp-derp fest of horrible cell-shaded art, non-existent story, and childish humor.

I got the platinum trophy in Borderlands and I don't remember a damn thing of what this game was about.

I will easily play more Borderlands.

Consider me exited. Also really digging the music.

I wonder if this means there is dual wielding or if it's just something to make the teaser look cool.

Still haven't played the first. Been waiting for the GOTY edition,and when it came out, I was too busy playing other games. It's certainly on my back catalog though.

Awwwwwww yeeeeaaaahhhhhh. Sci Fi dual wielding dwarves with fauxhawks are the best! And that's no joke.

That being said, the problem I had with Borderlands wasn't really story telling, it was end game activities or lack thereof. We needed more to do with all the loot we acquired in the game. Second play-through was nice and all, but what about after that?

We had top tier weapons, but nothing to do with them. Mad Moxie was alright, but it was kind of tedious to a degree most FPS players aren't willing to sit through. What else could we do, play through again? Hopefully, they execute the storytelling better this time, not relying too heavily on audio dialog while you roam to inform you with what's going on. That's honestly very weak storytelling and it didn't work for me.

With Borderlands however, Gearbox proved that an FPS RPG is very doable without using the traditional dice roll systems and instead relying on player skill. IMO, I would say it was three-quarters baked, but I get your point. It definitely wasn't completely polished.

I gave them a pass on Duke Nukem Forever, because I knew it was going to be half-baked, though that isn't their fault. I'm not here to start any flame wars or anything. I am just using your post as a jumping off point for my post, poser. You're always entitled to your opinion, too. I'm not saying you're wrong in anyway.

EDIT: Also, did anyone notice the Robot enemies?

Haven't played the first one, but i might pick this one up.

i don't mean to perpetuate such a triviality, but it's not the amen break, it's a variation on it. literally every break beat in existence is a variation on the amen break. the one in the trailer has an extra snare stroke which changes the sound and flow significantly.

I played it for 30 hours before reaching that conclusion too. The loot was the hook that kept me entertained, but it was ultimately a very boring game with very little thought required. (makes sense to me that Jeff liked it so much)

Yes, I thought so too. Fortunately I have four real life friends to play with which makes up for the boring weapons.

Ahh thats good. That is one more pet peeve I have as well. That if you have more than maybe 1-2 levels in difference between your partner. It feels like one person is playing and the other person is tagging along and not helpful at all. Its hard to fix that with hard leveling though.

Man I can't wait for this game. The first one is one of my favorite games this gen.
