Why is capcom so intent on NOT using the characters people love in this series? Just make a a Dante/Vergil game like the old ones.  Come on.

I actually am OK with this. It's still definitely DMC, and there's no indication that Dante's cocky ass personality won't be intact (quite the opposite, in fact!). A redesign/reboot doesn't offend me, Dante is Dante is Dante, he has two guns and a sword. Now let me do incredibly stylish shit.

This game is going to suck as much as DMC4 did. Unlikable characters, retarted level design, etc. etc. Man, I f-ing hate DMC4.

I'm fine with a reboot of sorts, but this Dante just looks like every meth addict I pass by in Glasgow, and the lack of gray hair is an issue.

Ugh ...that looks awful.  I never really liked the DMC series that much but this could be a new low.  The entire tone of that trailer didn't seem right and giving Dante a punk look and attitude is just terrible. 
 
I hope to god the gameplay is some amazing innovation otherwise I cannot see this being a good thing for the series.

Man, and I thought DMC3 Dante was bad.  And that least young Dante in that still had white hair, and looked similar. 
 
Well, thanks for taking a series I loved and changing to the point where now I'm totally alienated.  
 
Nothing against reboots, in fact, I was kind of thinking that DMC needed a reboot. But not one where they take a character that had once been a total badass, and turn him into a total jabroni.  
 
Maybe if we complain enough, they'll change it to something not terrible, sort of like with inFAMOUS 2. 

I was not interested in Dante as a character after the second game. Sure gameplay wise Devil May Cry became better but as a narrative Dante just seemed the typical 'too cool for school' video game archetype with so little there that they had to introduce an additional character to add depth to him.
 
The idea of giving Devil May Cry the Batman Begins treatment and seeing how Dante becomes the way he is seems at least interesting from a story perspective. There's more potential to have a nuanced and dynamic character.

I also like that they're taking the soundtrack less toward rock and more toward punk, it seems appropriate for a younger character.
 
Ninja Theory, you have my attention now.

Since it will be by Ninja Theory this Devil May Cry will probably be heavily westernised i.e God of War style whip attacks etc, not sure if this good or bad.

Like the trailer, but hate Dante's new look. I think this will be a new "inFAMOUS2" situation where the hardcore fans (me one) will not like the new look.
 
Although this game is like 2 years from now, so changes will come for the best. Perhaps they are teasing our heads and do us the same thing they did in DMC4.

What the fuck is this? There's no personality or charm, it's just violent and trying real hard to be edgy. AND WHERE'S THE WHITE HAIR GODDAMMIT.

I lost interest after DMC3 (which I enjoyed). This trailer does nothing for me I'm afraid.

wow the kids will rly like this game... have some hip clothing and music... and check it out! hes smoking a cig... thats totally fuckin coool!! and hes totally locked up and pissed off at the cops... what a gangster! 10/10

Honestly, this redesign looks no more hyper-stylistically punk-goth than the original character designs. And I'm pretty certain Ninja Theory's awesome too.

Wow, from the developers who brought you Kung Fu Chaos and Heavenly Sword, highly regarded and well-made products. This will surely turn out to be a good game.
