E3 2015: Shantae Returns for a Fourth Adventure in Half-Genie Hero

I feel like there are suddenly so many of these games. Wasn't there two released last year?

Yeah, one was a rerelease for PC, the other was a new game. They're seriously cranking them out lately, no idea why. I mean, according to wikipedia this one was Kickstarted a year before the last one was released. What the hell?

@yummylee: The original Shantae was re-released on the 3DS Virtual Console in 2013. Risky's Revenge was first released in 2010, re-released on iOS in 2011 and PC in 2014. Pirate's Curse was released on 3DS and Wii U last year.

So, technically yes, two in one year.

It's mostly been ports and re-releases and stuff.

Is this going to come to PC eventually too? I'd much rather play it there, even if it means waiting.

@mithical: Yes, I have the demo already due to being a backer. It's pretty good.

@paulunga: Pirate's Curse had a LONG time between dev and release. Apparently it just kept getting pushed back for some reason even though it was mostly done. I don't remember why but it was supposed to come out about a year before It did but shenanigans delayed it.

I don't think these games are even that good. Sort of boring. But at least the non-pixel art one is finally comng out.

@unclejohn0525: I could never get in to the GBC game. The 'magic' must have been a level past my tolerance for shit jumping out at you that you had only 50ms to whip with your hair before it sapped your health. That, or the appeal must have been in the frustratingly constrained platforming a la Megaman (also lost on me).
