E3 2018: After Two Decades, Star Control Is Back with Origins

I thought Stardock had an agreement with original SC2 devs who make their own version. But apparently they don't, they want all the IPs, they want original devs to stop working on any similar games and they want $200k just because. Bad move, Stardock, bad move. Don't support this game. If you want to play - download and play Ur Quan Masters - free open-source project, remake of original Star Control 2, the best game in series.

This voice acting is a huge turn off to me. Especially that officer Windu at 1:10.

@arza: The situation is way more complicated and frustrating than that, and is all tied back to one of the prior versions of Atari managing to somehow lose the details of an agreement with those guys; I'm not really sure who to side with on this one. The Ur-Quan masters is a safe choice regardless, though, especially with all that sick community-made music from The Precursors.

I'd forgotten about how shitty Stardock is being about the IP rights to Star Control. I'll try to keep informed about Ghosts of the Precursors instead, and/or play Ur-Quan Masters.
