Gears of War: Judgment Takes You Back to the Beginning

I wasn't the biggest fan of it but I would rather see Bulletstorm 2 than this, need a break from Gears

Looks good much like GoW3 did and it will be interesting story wise what happened 30 days after Emergence Day.

Only interested in this because of Tom Bissell and People Can Fly.

I hear the Horde + Beast merger mode is pretty good though.

I don't want to play this just because I hated the story of Gears of War 3 then that crappy Zeta Squad add on that broke continuity. But why would anyone really buy this? You're not getting anything useful out of it story-wise, we all know what happens after Emergence Day, we don't need to see a sub plot get it's own game.

I love me some Gears of War, but this is way too soon. Sure another team is developing it, but it might as well be Epic itself because it looks EXACTLY like Gears 3.

It's hard to imagine why so many people involved with the Gears franchise are leaving Epic... oh wait, it's not.

Because whether he likes it or not, Cliff's name is attached to the brand. He always presented the Gears series at E3 was the face of Epic. I highly doubt he left Epic to avoid the fallout if this game does poorly, but it's always nice to have a franchise you worked on retain its good reputation.

As someone who really enjoys Gears games, I'm finding it very hard to care about this one.

I definitely don't understand the hate directed towards this. Gears 3 was incredibly fun, with some of the best, most skill-based multiplayer of any recent shooter.

To people who say "this is too soon", you can probably thank MS and Sony for drawing out this console generation an extra year (or more) and forcing studios to create filler titles with guaranteed sales potential. I am looking forward to playing this for the gameplay, and I hope they have balanced and fine-tuned the multiplayer component, as it has huge competitive potential.

Same here. I will probably pick it up during a sale, not day one.

Is a shame that the incredibly talented PcF team didn't get to make Bulletstorm 2 but oh well I like Gears and I'll get this when its affordable.

I am probably gonna pass unless there is something special about this new gears.

All I want is to play as Cosmo Kramer...better yet, have Kramer be the judge.

I'm ready for more Gears! Bloody love these games, especially for the campaign coop, and the idea of playing as a squad lead by Baird is rather appealing.

"All these new enemies and weapons in our prequel are not in any of the other Gears games because of..." videogames :P

I like what Gears has done gameplay wise but I'm so fuckin' sick of the macho bullshit, will be passing this up for sure.

So there were women in the COG army from the beginning, now? That's... convenient.

(I personally liked the idea that the COG were a bunch of war-hungry chauvinists who only had their minds changed by the impending apocalypse-- that seemed a lot more fitting to their world. But I guess this is a more sensible choice, in a "CYA" kind of way.)

If this gives us a view of what the world looked and functioned like pre e-day, I'll be happy

Can't say I'm excited for this one, but then again I was much the same with 3. Didn't follow it at all until the QL hit, and that game was pretty good.

For some odd reason, when I say Gears of War: Judgement to myself, I start giggling.

Im sorry but I'm gonna go ahead and blame publishers for that, having a longer generation than normal should be no excuse for more sequels and spin offs. Now is the perfect timing for a new IP, large install base and most developers knows the hardware in their sleep.

@Branthog: This is exactly how I feel. Even Halo: ODST and Reach were unnecessary, never mind Halo 4,5 and 6.
