On the podcast this week, the guys said that Bob caught him trying to sell the beta key on the PAX show floor before he even got it.

About Oliver, I don't really care or mind if someone wants to make some money of it if he's not absolutely dying to play the beta with the uber pre-release starcraft crowd, but trying to sell it AT the show AT the place where the people who are going to give it to you are, that's offensive because it's so stupid.

Okay, I'm going to get slaughtered for this, but I'm going to try and play devil's advocate. 
 
Oliver won his prize, fair and square, and therefore he gets to do whatever he wants with it. If he wants to sell it, then so be it. I think it is a kind of an insensitive, callous move to then try and sell that prize at the very same expo he just won it at, just so he could make some money off some desperate fans. However, is it really so bad as to prompt the response  "I hope those shirts give him cancer"? I know it was said in exaggeration, but c'mon, that's very harsh.

Agreed. Hopefully Half Beard does get contacted and possibly get the beta and a copy of TB Rock Band.

Why is everyone so pissed about Oliver.   Did he sell his beta key?   If that's the case why the fuck do you care?   I'm not a starcraft fan at all and I'd have done the same.   That way someone who likes starcraft could enjoy it and I'd get to buy something that I liked.   You people are fucking retarded.

I have to agree with this. Although what he did was a little out of taste, he has the right to do whatever the hell he wants with his prize. I mean jeez, I wouldn't want a Starcraft 2 beta key; I hate RTS games.

So all the people who camp for consoles and sell them for profit are evil. If you were to win say a washing machine at a raffle or a contest and sold it you are a douchebag? If you go into the prize is right and later on sell the car you are a dick? IT IS YOUR FUCKING THING. YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH IT. Maybe he doesn't have a good gaming computer, I don't have one if I got a stracraft beta key I would give to a friend who could run it or sell it.
 
Sidenote: what he did was wrong in the sense that Beta keys are not products which I believe can be legally sold (I think it says it somewhere in the fine print). But since no one here is arguing that, rather the whole "its an immoral thing" I am complaining against that because you are allowed to sell shit that people give you cause it is your own shit.
