I think this remake looks fantastic. The only thing I'm afraid of is that I'll constantly be switching between filters and forget to enjoy myself.

The original graphics better convey the dark and moody tone of the level, but I'm sure the rest of the game will be best played in "HD-mode".

I played the crap out of the first Halo, but this doesn't excite me in the least.

I love Halo, and I'm thrilled for this remake, but I'm sick to death of hearing this guy say "It plays just like it did ten years ago! Just like you remember! It has a graphics toggle! Isn't that magical? Ten years ago!".

I'm still not sure I entirely want a $40 dollar version of Halo to play exactly like Halo. When it drops to $20, I might bite. But as to this, why wouldn't I just play Reach?

@avidwriter: The games industry has been chock full of remakes and rereleases for decades. They're just more apparent to westerners now.

Graphics, while better than Halo originally (clearly) still don't look all that great frankly.
 
Anyway I completed it twice or so and have no desire to go back, the multiplayer is just Reach with different maps as I understood it. Even if I'm wrong about that the original Halo's multiplayer was pretty sucky so I'm guessing they won't just be bringing that back with new graphics.

@pyromaster222: they don't want to seem behind the curve since so many Ps3 games support it.

@avidwriter: good thing you're wrong. This is a re-release on the anniversary. Same game or a new mode that puts it in the Reach engine. I forgot Hollywood does that all the time.

As a fan but not a huge fan I'm kinda surprised at how well I remember the details of this level.

The thing here is that this has been asked for by fans for a long time. I constantly saw people saying things along the lines of "I would love to play Halo looking like this" With videos of Halo3 and beyond. People loved the story and the setting of the first game, some more then the other games in the series. The pre-orders are high and this will sell very well. One of those occasions where this is very much justified.

Exactly. I'm stoked this is coming, and considering the fact that Halo 4 is also in the works, it seems a little dumb to complain. This is looking to be an awesome experience and fully worth the price. Cannot wait.

I used Halo 1 multiplayer to juggle warthogs with sticky 'nades. Will I be able to juggle warthogs? This is my main concern.

Looks great. I can't wait to play this all over again with my brother. Played at Easter when we were both back home and the gameplay still felt great.

OMG CANT WAIT! Halo CE is one of my favorite games, and one of the first games I ever finished.  

Can't believe this is 10 years old. Feeling even older now.
