Oh hells yes.  My girlfriend and I have been craving a game with a bit of story and depth that we can play together ( well, me with the controls and her helping with the decisions) This one, and Alan Wake will hopefully fill that need.

Just because they're publishing it doesn't mean it's exclusive, unless Sony owns the IP. I don't think it'll go anywhere else though. It was developed with the PS3 in mind.

This might be for me the most interesting game at E3. Its look differentiates itself from all the other games I've seen preview for so far.  But of course the big question is: how does it play, hopefully the action sequences aren't just one big QTE (à la Indigo Prophecy)

That may be, but I'm still holding out hope. Fahrenheit was eventually ported to the original xbox from the ps2.

Plus, the publishers have nothing to gain by keeping any kind of exclusivity on this title,  it's not as if it's a big name/franchise that is guaranteed to sell. Especially since Fahrenheit wasn't a particularly big seller.

Sony may be publishing it but do they own the IP?

I dunno if Sony owns the IP, but the director of the game was quoted as saying "I think this game can only be done on Playstation 3...We used all the SPUs...I think to do the visuals, and all the stuff we’re doing would be too difficult [on the 360]. There are amazing physics there, and stuff with crowds that you just couldn’t really get."

So take from that what you will.

IM just going to say it - but i dont mind QTE's.
The only thing that sucks is the black and white nature of them - fail, retry = immersion obliterated.
Since they have the whole cascading consiquences thingy (miss one, leads into another event etc.), PLUS no retries, just actual death....

Seems like they have combated the most obvious flaws of a QTE based game.

Still, might suck, might not.
However, looks really interesting and promising so far.

The trailer leads me to believe that this would make a better movie than a game, but I am still looking forward to this. I'm really interested in how the multiple choices/consequences thing is going to work especially since if the main character dies the story keeps going, or at least that is what they originally said they were going to do at any rate.  In any case, I can't wait for this come out!

I absolutely loved Indigo Prophecy despite its incredibly heavy focus on quicktime events. This one looks to be superior to that game so I am psyched.

I agree with you 100%. QTE's themselves are not as bad as the reputation they've garnered. I suppose this has a lot to do with personal tastes as well, but I personally think that QTE's are fantastic when they are used well. Indigo Prophecy was one of my favorite games of all time partly because it used them so effectively in place of standard gameplay that I've seen so much of before. They have the ability to turn a static story sequence into an exciting interactive experience. I might be alone on this one, but I actually was very dissapointed that RE 5 had far less QTE's than 4, because some of my favorite sequences in that game were the really cool interactive cutscenes (eg: The Krauser knife fight). Does any one else feel this way about them?
