Well that looks boring. Doesn't seem to be anything other than rah-rah-ing.

Dude doesn't want to fight. Dude is personally affected (and survives one hell of an explosion with some bruises). Dude decides to fight, for his families safety of course. Then the killing time starts and doesn't end until everyone on the other side is up to their ass in shrapnel.

Hopefully there's more to it than that, because otherwise I think I'm good.

this makes me hope that we'll see something like Bad Company 3 eventually. a military shooter campaign with goofballs for squadmates and a story that isn't completely dead serious.

This wasn't my favorite Brief Look, I prefer those that have Vincent and (Big) Jeffrey.

GR: Future Soldier made me realize that I haven't seen a war game that didn't a) Have a Blackhawk/blackhawk equivalent transport chopper and b)Had that chopper crash dramatically at some point. Even in the damn future people are happy riding along in ancient, fragile helicopters.

Wow, you guys are so full of negativity. I really don't get it if this is how you feel or if a lot of you are just projecting feelings that some of the GB crew has about FPS. I saw nothing in this video that didn't show this studio is bringing you a solid shooter and a heavy tone on story. Also your jokes aren't as clever as they are in your head.

CGI trailer full of clichés with no actual gameplay, but somehow it's obviously a solid shooter with a heavy tone on story. Where have I heard that one before?

Where the fuck is Bad Company 3.

The complexities of family relations for soldiers in the middle of war can make for good stories, but I doubt there is going to much depth beyond what we've seen in this trailer.

They used the madrid train bombings in their Video Game? I don't know guys.

Yay, another war video game that indirectly says that all Arab looking/speaking people must be evil terrorist, and the only way to stop them is through violence and war. Jeez war games need to grow up! And if they use the madrid bombings as their excuse to just destroy things with the frostbite engine...maaan, that's so messed up!

You think they included the Battlefield 4 beta not as a bonus but as a way of getting people to buy this game?

Man. I get bummed when I see the negativity everyone has for this game. I really liked MoH 2010. It tried to portray a more understated story, based on a real battle. It had a nice sense of plausibility and yes, even the dreaded word authenticity; a huge contrast compared to the Michael Bay antics of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 onwards. MoH 2010 was less a game about facing down some evil bad dude, or getting justice for some perceived outrage; it was a game about both the positive brotherhood between warfighters, and the negative frustrations of modern warfare, the confusion, the mistakes people made, the inadequacy of decisions made by military commanders thousands of miles away from the battlefield.

Sadly this does nothing for me. And it commits BF3's major sin. Low color saturation, extreme contrast, noisy as fuck picture. No thank you.

If I buy a FPS this season, it's going to be Borderlands 2.

Now if they had scratched my Bad Company itch on the other hand... oh well, guess EA's gonna do horribly this year, and the brass will change by Spring '13. Too bad customers shat on Riccitiello's initial 'all original IP' run, sales-wise.

Next guy's not gonna do a better job, in this climate of mistrust and failure - fucking shareholders.

After playing Spec Ops The Line Campaign is hard to swallow this Micheal Bay-esque trailer.

That couldn't be more cliche/stereotypical or resemble a shitty and stupid Hollywood interpretation of a war veteran could it? What a stupid game. When will all this war porn stop existing in modern shooters? Can we get back to something clever and something that doesn't rely on shitty Hollywood scripts about the troubled war vet? I'm so sick of seeing this shit in modern media. All these publishers are glorifying middle east war vets, downplaying their mental issues by showing them as some loner out to exact revenge on doing suicidal actions, and making them out to be crazy, reckless, dangerous, scared people. I've tolerated it/ignored it for a very long time, but this shit needs to go away. It's boring, somewhat offensive, cliche, cheap, easy, overdone, and almost universally stupid. I'm getting really tired of all big name FPS titles doing this bullshit. Not everyone out there is some pimple faced, foul mouthed 13 year old kid (I've earned the right to be foul mouthed, 13 year old kids say some very sick stuff on XBL) that likes to sit inside all day and act like they are some badass sniper. Some of us want to play good shooters, but don't want to be cast as some PTSD suffering veteran that can't relate to their friends or love their children. Stop. Just fucking stop.

We've had plenty of "solid" shooters. People are just tired of shooter games, solid or not. The genre's been oversaturated with modern military jargon. And that "heavy tone" is just an excuse to blow shit up and shoot middle easterner while being able to claim "we have a deep and emotional backdrop!"

A lot of people think that Activision should scrap the CoD series, doesn't mean that it's gonna happen. I don't think Activision should scrap the CoD series, but I think other developers should stop trying to chase it and emulate it.

Don't get me wrong i want developers to try new things and make new games but i don't think EA or anyone else is the devil because they make modern FPS thats all.

Where did I establish that logic? That developers should leave a genre alone if someone else does it best? I said people should stop chasing Call Of Duty with their own rendition of modern military shooter because it's an overpopulated genre that people are sick of and can do without imitators. People are pouring time and resources into something we have experienced multiple times a year, not just gameplay wise, but setting and theme. Look down the iron sights and kill a dude and shout "tango down." Platformers aren't all about fat plumbers and jumping on enemies to kill them. Mario, Limob, Fez, Braid, while all classified as platformer/puzzle games, are all distinctly different in theme, setting, characters, and all have different gameplay mechanics. While you look at Battlefield, Medal of Honor, and Call Of Duty and the only difference is that one moves faster or one has vehicles and supports more players and looks prettier. You're still looking down iron sights and shooting dudes.

I enjoy a good modern military shooter every now and then as well, but too much of a good thing can indeed be a bad thing. And there is most certainly genre fatigue in the FPS genre in general, not just the modern military type.

I may be an idiot and an optimist, but if this game can pull off the story of a professional soldier falling apart that it seems like it wants to, then this could be incredible. If they can manage to convey the same sort of psychological breakdown as SpecOps, with tight game-play and a compelling story, this could be something important.

I just can't wait to follow my buddy Superfly to the next checkpoint!
