@arawk: Yes, I play without it, you can turn it off in the options. Only downside is that you don't get the compromised/trespassing bar but it's been fine without it, you just need to use common sense.

Where Dan often let's Brad do his thing while placing general remarks about what would be a funny thing to do, Jeff just gives basic commands to Brad which makes him execute them without much doubt.

Dan plays the game as a sociopathy and murder simulator, without any real interest in achieving the objectives – that's ok as far as it goes, but I was ready to see a successful run. Well done Brad!

@dudeglove:

Hmmm I don't know, those are normal terms used to describe various types of hacker and have been around since long before Deus Ex.

It just seems like dialogue written by someone who knows about computing, and the ridiculous way its talked about in TV and film. "GUI using visual basic" etc.

after spending the past 12 hours downloading 60 gigs of skyrim mods and then realizing I don't really want to play skyrim I need a palette cleanser so going to go give this elusive target a shot

generally all visits to paris end with axe murder though so I don't have the highest hopes

I can't believe Brad did that. He's so bad at Hitman. A few episodes ago he couldn't stop crouching. Now he's seemingly forgotten how to do it. Please for the love of god learn what the compromised state actually means as well.

Welp it said I had 22 minutes left before the target was over and something tells me that if you are still in the mission the server doesn't care.

I failed. I failed miserably. I don't think you could have done any worse than I did.

I started in the kitchen undercover. I picked up a fire poker and immediately the other cooks got very concerned and I went from NO status to hunted immediately. I ran out of the room and started punching, choking people in the locker room. I knocked out 3 women and 2 guards wandered into the room who I dispatched with a fire extinguisher. Things weren't looking good.

I wandered around looking for a different outfit. Please, anything. I found a stylist sitting in a chair so I killed him with a fire extinguisher. While picking up my fire extinguisher his friend walked in. I ran up and punched him in a stair well and 2 guards started shooting me immediately. I started to run as bullets whizzed past me.

A tech was fixing something at the top of some stairs. I stabbed him and took his outfit. I felt that things were looking up. I checked my hitman vision and half the map had white dots above their heads. I opened a door and two guards saw me and I went back to hunted. I stabbed one and punched the other and then got gunned down running up the stairs.

Total mission time 4 minutes ...

My lesson learned from all this is don't pick up a fire poker with 22 minutes before the elusive target ends.

Brad and Jeff did very good in this one (this was one of the harder elusive targets), but I was compelled to make this just as a future public service announcement.

To Brad's credit, it is exceptionally rare that a game bothers to include AI scripting that escorts you out of "restricted" zones. It is much more common that the guards just aggro either immediately, or they aggro if you don't leave the zone within a certain brief time limit.

@bisonhero: oh yeah, totally. The game teaches you what trespassing is right away, but doesn't let you in on the escorting stuff, but there has been several times where the guard has asked Brad to follow him and Brad/Dan didn't hear it because they are talking over it so they miss that piece of info and usually run away and go into a hunted state and don't know why.

Brad should get Mastery in Bangkok. The Reward for it is the ultra quiet Kreugermeir .22 pistol. I've cleared entire rooms with it and no one heard or suspected a thing. it seems perfect for taking about elusive targets. That being said I screwed this particular one up.

This whole Jeff is better than Dan is a bit silly. Both just offer different approaches. Jeff is more no nonsense git-er-done and Dan is lets-do-this-bat-shit-crazy-style. I like and appreciate both approaches. Jeff and Dan help Brad when he is waffling on choices and both help him notice alternative routes. Also in Brads defense its been said that when on camera the guys sometimes get tunnel vision because they are multitasking the game and commentary. Maybe its just the Giant Bomb community "get rid of Dan" meme thing that's going or maybe it just me overreacting but I'm just finding it tiresome.

Jeff as the wingman: "Check the map to see where you are going", "Wait for him to turn around then go past him", "Hiding bodies is the correct thing to do"...

Dan as the wingman: "Kill everyone in the room with a proximity mine", "Forget the body, just get away from there", "Snap everyone's neck!", "I'm the sheikh!!"...

The choice is clear, fire Dan and convince Jeff to stay as your wingman. One uses rational logic and the other uses pyschopathic logic XD

Compromised: 1 or more NPCs know that you are not the disguise you look like; maybe because you threw a hammer at their head or did some other criminal behavior. These NPCs appear orange in "Hitman Vision". Also, these NPCs could be unconscious or awake. Unconscious NPCs who know you are not your current disguise can be awoken by other patrolling NPCs in which case your identity will be exposed until you switch outfits. As you know, you can be compromised on one side of the map and be perfectly safe on the other side. This is because the compromised status only relates to the individual NPCs who spot you or were informed about you.

There are 2 ways to remove a compromised status:

1. Kill all NPCs who appear orange in "Hitman Vision". Non-guard NPCs who spot you doing a criminal act will run to get help. Best to kill/hide them before they do so.

2. Dump unconscious NPCs into boxes so that they are never found. Often, you hammer a dude alone in a room as he's looking at you which makes your disguise compromised. Since you leave him on the floor where any patrolling NPC can wake him up, you stay compromised. Hide his body in a secure location (box or closet) and the compromised status goes away.

You were compromised at the end in the security uniform because the unconscious guards saw you attacking them before they went unconscious. You were unsure earlier in the video if unconscious people can be roused, but if someone spots them, they will wake them up. You were compromised because if any of them were found and woken up, they would remember what you looked like. If any of roused people spot you, they'll immediately recognize you and you'll be arrested. They will also report what you looked like, which will be reported over the radio, and then all of the bodyguards will recognize you and look for you.

The easy way to enter an uncompromised state is to just snap all of their necks. However, in that area, no other AI loops through there, so you would have been fine to leave, even in your compromised state.

It does mean what it means! If any of the people who spotted you doing something shady get roused from their unconscious state, and you're still in the same disguise, you are pretty much screwed.

Jeff at least looks at the minimap to see white dots on the display before heading into a room! I loved how the focus on getting out made Brad miss the easy path to the Helmut disguise and then totally forget the scaffolding in the room opposite the target they had referenced just a minute before.

I love that they have played this much of this game and haven't figured out basic mechanics. @brad, You were compromised because the person you knocked out could wake up and will know that there is a person walking around as a whatever disguise you are in. They saw you as you were knocking them out. Also the speed you walk does not determine suspicion in this game. It is based on proximity to the suspicious person and duration they look at you. If you are running away instead of "playing it cool," you stand a much better chance of not having your cover blown.

God damnit Brad, all you had to do was just walk out. The people you were "compromised" to were all unconscious or dead. Also you are 100% terrible at reading video game maps. So frustrating to watch.

I hope jeff and brad are going to be the hitmen now, I'm confused how Dan could ever complete a Hitman game with the way he's thinking

The answer is quick save/quick load.

@dystopiax: Getting to the attic isn't hard, but it is time consuming, compared to starting in the auction.

Yeah, but at this point I think even Brad knows how to get there without trouble- he made a beeline for Helmet Kruger right away- so I don't mind if they had that unlock for the purpose of the video, it would save 5-10 minutes of Brad just getting the Helmet Kruger disguise which we've already seen him do multiple times.

Jeff needs to stop worrying about trespassing. When he gets caught he panics and will sometimes run and then get chased and shot at. If you get caught all you need to do is stop moving and they will escort you out. They don't just shoot you for trespassing as long as you comply.

Congrats @brad you are definitely improving. The only major two major notes I have is that guards will never investigate you for breaking line of sight so crouch or whatever you need to do before their suspicion indicator fills. The other one is that you totally didn't have to go back through the attic areas to get to the helmet krüger disguise. You can actually go through the auction room and right into the meeting room because all the guards in those areas are not suspicious of other guards.

Dear @brad

Since you are playing on PS4, you can play the bonus PS4 exclusive missions called The Sarajevo Six. They are side missions but are not 1 time things like Elusive Targets (so if you die no big deal, you can try again). There is one for each main map (Paris, Sapienza, Marakesh and Bangkok).

They are under the contracts tab on the main page, all the way to the right. They are fun one off missions.

Being caught trespassing isn't an immediate problem. It is if you're already caught doing something shady or suspicious, but as long as you comply, guards will just walk you to an exit without incident and just a wagging finger.

@bored_ming:

I absolutely adore having Dan on the site, but Jeff is clearly better at this game. Even Dan has said that he is terrible at using stealth in stealth games. If the goal of the video is to use the mechanics better and succeed, I'd say Jeff should make more appearances. If they're just trying to be as absurd as possible and inefficient for goofs, Dan is the man.

@shaunwoo: I've never played this game, only watched the videos, but holy crap, how has Brad not yet realized he can break the line of sight by crouching, he always just awkwardly stands there as the detection meter fills. I'm not crazy right, crouching is fine?
