Man, I use a Rode Podcaster mic for my YouTube stuff that I do and just recently bought an AVerMedia ExtremeCap U3 and was like "This is awesome, I can't believe how crazy this setup is!" Man, I feel so inadequate now. :)

1080 VINNY

Awesome! I always find these types of behind the scenes videos fascinating as Vinny always goes into how the studio setup actually works. I would love to learn about HDMI standards in Behind the Boards with Vinny Caravella, which could also work as a woodworking thing.

Vinny playing with the audio effects is amazing.

That is a shit ton of cables and clutter for just a couple cameras and mixers. Overkill? I have no idea, I'll trust Vinny knows what he's doing.

The video looks really nice on my nexus 7 (which is 1080p), but I cant notice a difference on my laptop (which is 1366x768). And I do most of my GB viewing on my laptop, so it doesnt really matter to me either way.

As for 60 FPS. Cool if you're doing it on gameplay, pointless if you're doing it on the live action feed.

Im a little confused, I googled how to build a beast and this video came up. At what point does this Vinny guy tell us how to build the beast?

I don't think the video is actually 1080p, it would appear both the stream and the download are in 720. It does look more clear, but that might have something to do with 1080 being down sampled to 720.

@ajayraz: I hate to say it but Big Knob might lose... I get the impression it's intimidated by eldritch horrors.

Yeah, I think our offsite compression is still encoding down to 720p. This is mostly just testing stuff and getting ready for when we eventually go down this road. Just like capturing 1080p 60, we will have to change and test a bunch of things to deliver it properly... or as properly as anything else.

I miss Vinny so much. I can feel it in my bones.

OH GOD! When Vinny turned his pitch up just a little bit... it soundly eerily like my own voice. Makes me want to pitch down my voice so I can sound 'normal'

Right on. Pretty pumped for the upgraded video quality since it seems most consoles and pc games are going to be rendering at 1080p as the default. Any idea if the CA HQ is going to be making the upgrade as well?

Loved this. Vinny is a beautiful magician.

This all seems so expensive and excessive for the bulk of content they'll actually produce. But if this means we're getting 'professional' content, like TNT back in its former glory, then fair play, but I doubt it.
