It's Time for a New Mario Kart 8 Trailer

This certainly looks like another one of those. I am entirely okay with that.

Yep! The WiiU is my main Netflix/Youtube/Giantbomb video-watching device. I even have the gamepad's charger cradle set up on the end table next to my bed for quiet night-time viewing.

It's also, imo, the best device to watch Giant Bomb/ Internet videos on a TV via the web browser (which supports live Twitch now).

It's one of the few games that has made me say "Shit, I'm glad I have a Wii U".

The funniest thing about this trailer on other sites is all the people saying that MK7 just came out and that's the "first" Mario kart game on WiiU. As if Mario kart games come out more than once per platform and more often than every 3-4 years.

Man, so many feels looking at Rainbow Road. I need to buy a WiiU so I can start playing games with my kids.

What's not to understand? Racing games look relatively boring from behind the vehicle, at least too boring for a trailer that is supposed to sell you on the excitement. So you use the replay cameras like you are watching it broadcast on TV. It's a trailer. It kinda needs dynamic cameras here and there. Same way you never see just a zoomed out field view in a trailer for a football, soccer or basketball game. It's all about exciting angles.

Besides, it's not like there's not plenty of actual gameplay out there with people playing solo or two player filmed off-screen.

Zelda is already confirmed for E3. They said they'd "talk Zelda at E3" so get ready for that. Metroid is overdue as well, maybe we'll get both, who knows. Crazier things have happened.

Is this trailer all you've seen? They've shown plenty of brand new tracks in entirely new and very distinct settings (clouds, airships, an airport, racing up a waterfall, giant amusement park, a dance club-type place, etc) across the four trailers they released since its debut last E3. Nothing disappointing about any of it, really. Watch them again and pay a little more attention maybe? :)

caught my wife looking up mario kart 8 the other day on her ipad, 90% of the time she is on facebook or pintrest. so.. yeah we are really excited about this one!

This game looks amazing but I no longer have friends who care. They're like old and have children and think fishing and mountain climbing is fun now.

I really don't understand game trailers at all. Most of that video was shot in front looking back or from a side angle, when during the game will that ever happen. There might have been 10 sec. of game play action the way it will actually look.

Wowzers, this looks really good. I like the sense of speed, judging by some of the preview videos. I can't believe that I' genuinely excited for another Mario Kart game.

The voice samples from the Mario&Luigi RPGs are *totally* Italian.

EDIT: @benmo316 I assume that they specifically wanted to show off the old tracks here. The past few Mario Kart game always 16 "retro" courses and 16 new ones. And the ones they have shown so far look fantastic, you shouldn't worry about that.

I can't wait for this to come out but I have to be cynical about this trailer. It's just recreated older tracks shown (from what I could tell). Or maybe it's because there are so many Mario Kart games they just ran out of track ideas? I dunno, it's just disappointing to see.

When you boost into people on the antigrav sections, you get another boost. That is awesome.
