I'm kind of impressed that they're really running with the joke that Lightning is just a female Cloud. That shows a level of self-awareness I wasn't sure Square-Enix still had.

Digital download codes actually cost them money to generate. They'll include printed codes in the first however many preorder copies that get sent out. So yeah it will actually be a while supplies last thing, it sounds kind of odd but it makes sense. The DLC will then probably go up for sale in a few weeks or a month after this.

I miss when Nomura's costume designs were a little more sensible; that actually looks kinda cool. There's a beauty in the simplicity that's lost in recent Final Fantasy games.

Why can't stuff like this be in game unlockables anymore? Stupid preorder bonuses and DLC.

Luckily I don't like FFVII or I would be ogling it. I'm mean, how do you not do a remake that could easily bring in so much money and is actually wanted. Cost or not you'll make it back, hell even I'd buy it(regardless of the fact that I never finished it and yet know the whole story, and again, don't like it)

I think they'd struggle to make any kind of profit that is sensible for such a large company. At this point, it wouldn't sell a significant amount more than any other Final Fantasy game; It would cost more to make because it would require a substantial amount more work in terms of asset generation than a modern, linear Final Fantasy.

Loved FF7 and I really liked 13 and 13-2, but man that looks dumb.

I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy VI-X but I don't want a VII remake. It's my least favorite of those five. I'd rather get an HD release of XII so I could actually go back and finish it...but it was stupid long so I dunno.

Are the XIII games even remotely worth playing for someone like me? I didn't totally love X really and fell off the Square bandwagon when I was like 15 or 16. I've heard such mixed things that I don't know why I'd even bother. Persona scratches that JRPG itch way better than FF does anymore.

Looks really nice, but I already promised myself to buy the FFX/X-2 HD collection. That's really all I'm interested from Square right about now.

I do pine for the days when the Final Fantasy brand was about quality over mass production & pandering.

Cloud had an entire game arc about dressing up like a girl.

Now Lightning can have an entire game dressed up as a guy.

I think that it just seems like that because the costumes are very easy to show off. They have demonstrated gameplay aspects like combat in the trailers and to the press at E3. They also still have most of a year to continue marking the game, which gives them plenty of time to get more into the nitty-gritty, particularly as the game gets closer to completion.

How so? Lightning doesn't look very awkward in those clothes.

i dunno, still gonna play the game if its good and whatnot though. not a detractor that she has cloud's clothes as equipment now.
