No, just... no. I defended Kojima to the last, and liked MGS2 a great deal, and even I was recently shocked how stupid Guns of Patriots was.

I own most of these games in different forms already and im STILL getting this. thats how good these games are. and how deranged I am. but mostly... yeah its the games

I am a huge MGS fan and I thought about pulling the trigger on this when I saw it came with an Art Book even though I already own all the games. However instead I decided to put that 50 bucks towards a more significant actual standalone Art Book. Looking forward to some Yoji Shinkawa goodness.

I think it's also worth noting that in Twin Snakes, they removed Mei Ling's Chinese accent (which never made sense given that she was American), a change that was ALSO in MGS4, meaning that it is the canonical version of her voice.

Also, who cares? I played Twin Snakes first, thus Twin Snakes is always going to be how I view that game. Other people didn't, and that's fine. We shouldn't be arguing over which is better, instead we should all just agree that Metal Gear (the franchise) is rad.

I kinda wish it it came with portable ops, but I can understand why since the game uses one analog stick which made it weird to play.

I agree with Twin Snakes not being all that crazy in comparison. Yeah, the missile jump and the spinning backflip before the Sniper Wolf fight are crazy, but I played MGS3, then Twin Snakes, then 2 and 4, and didn't realize until after all of that that Twin Snakes was any different than the original in those crazy scenes. You mention Grey Fox holding up the REX leg, but don't forget Raiden holding back an entire fucking Arsenal Gear in MGS4.

Guys, these are classic games.

Konami can't commit the resources to port a five year old game to another platform. At this stage in the life of the Xbox 360 it just doesn't make business sense.

I'm pretty sure everyone asking for Portable Ops has never played Portable Ops. If you had you wouldn't be asking for it.

I'm gonna guess that its gonna either be a code for the psn version or install that version off the disc. Also Twin Snakes would have to be ported from the GameCube.

Hell yes feinitely picking this up. I wish more publishers would do this with their series that span multiple console generations.

I have all the Metal Gear Games except Peace Walker... I want this. I want this bad.

I wonder if it's all the updated, + versions (like subsistence and stuff). I'm glad the original MGS is there instead of Twin Snakes, also.

I dunno. I played Halo 4 a lot more than I'd play some crusty old MGS collection where one game is an uprezzed portable game, two uprezzed PS2 games, and a DL token for a non-uprezzed PSX game. Thanks anyway. Even then a disturbingly high proportion of those of those PS3 exclusives have been rather questionable or niche stuff like 3D.Gameheroes, Mod Nation Racers, LBP Karting, Sorcery, Move Heroes, Ratchet and Clank All 4 One, etc. Now don't get me wrong, I think the Uncharted games are clearly worth it. Killzone 2 had some problems but it was interesting. Killlzone 3 and the last two Resistance games are pretty debatable though. I ablsolutely hated Heavy Rain. Last of Us is well reviewed but I haven't played my copy yet. Overall I think the PS3 exclusives have been pretty consistently overrated by PS fans. Some gems in there but for the most part this gen has been ruled by decisively third party multi-plats.

Twin Snakes was a remake of MGS 1 of the Gamecube that supposedly went too far and made the cut-scenes too silly mostly because of a scene where snake jumps off of a missile in flight, despite the fact that the original already had plenty of other nonsense like a cyborg holding up the foot of a giant robot. Twin Snakes also added aspects of the control scheme from MGS 2 which some felt spoiled how the game played letting you beat certain areas too easily.

I've just got a PS3 and I was excited about this, but it's not coming out in Europe. :( So I just bought all the mgs games. I don't know why I didn't buy a PS3 before, considering how much I like MGS. Super excited to play 4.

Would Nintendo not let them use The Twin Snakes version of MGS1? Seems like a no-brainer to use that version. This also seems like it would have been the perfect opportunity for that new MGS1 remake they were talking about this week.

Glad I skipped the HD collection, and with the MSX games, I can ALMOST retire my well-worn disc of Subsistence. Secret Theater wasn't in the HD version sadly.

They would have to change assets in the game and either edit or cut dialogue specifically relating to the Playstation in a 4th wall breaking manner for MGS4 to be on the 360.

That's what I'm gonna do, and pick up this and Demons Souls

I love mgs... but how many collections do we need already? I'll wait for a 1 remake ,2,3,4,5... geesh, it never ends.

They've said it's too big for 360.

I think Kojima said a lot of the disc space was because of the Mission Briefing scenes that played before each act. They were primarily the cause for having to install data at the start/end of each act as well before an update was released that allowed a full installation option from the main menu.

I might just have to pick that up if it isn't outrageously expensive.

I already have most of those, but it's nice to have them all in one place instead of spread over 3 systems.

Also having access to MG and MG2 right there on the disc is nice.

It's easy to forget how much good stuff has been in those games over the years.

What. Sony doesn't own the rights to the PS1 version of MGS1, if they did a PC version wouldn't exist.

Very happy about this, glad to see MGS1 in this collection, I thought they game couldn't be re-done due to some of the PS1 specific stuff( Physomantis figth etc.)
