@kmg90: External power supplies are better. You replace the power brick if it breaks or has a large surge instead of replacing the entire console. Power bricks make sense. My PS3 and Sony surround sound system both died because (though they were plugged into a surge protector) they were not plugged into a power conditioner. The 360 and Wii on the other hand, survived and are still going strong. I rather replace the brick for $30 then replace the console for $500.

This isn't a proper unboxing because it isn't done with a shaky camera phone while the guy breathes heavily.

The xbox one is the most ugly console I have ever seen in my life and too damn big. I don't know how microsoft screwed up the Tron encom 80's black box look but they did, they made it look like a cheep VCR. it looks like the microsoft office suits made this thing to put in a soul crushing office setting just to watch you with the kinect and record you at work. the 1st xbox and xbox 360 look way better than this thing.

if i ever decide micosoft and this thing stops sucking enough to get one I am going to have to cover it when i am not using it since I don't want to be seen with something that ugly.

the even more ugly kinect box is even worse I have to stick that thing on my super thin wall arm mounted tv some how? no thanks microsoft. you have sucked ever since that don matrick guy came around and I am done with you now.

The tv thing is dumb i still have to have my cablebox and i am not going to run another HDMI cord down to the xbox and have more cable clutter no. not worth it.

@syed117: Power Brick complaints are definitely a bit ridiculous. That thing is going to go behind the cabinet/entertainment system and never be thoguht of again. With the engineering related heat problems they had with the 360, even with a separate power supply, I'm not surprised they're keeping it external again. It's likely a smart decision.

Size complaints are not so ridiculous. The XBO's dimensions are larger than even the original PS3 design, which makes it one of the largest box dimensions in a game console since game consoles came into existence. That could be a problem for a lot of homes in the US, not to mention internationally, like Japan.

Totally glad they're including a headset now, as mentioned elsewhere. Not entirely sure about the audio quality vs the Sony included earbud headset (The earbud headset will likely be garbage, however Sony has some of the highest rated earbuds on the market, so who knows).

That power-brick-thing is huge! Why is it huge? What's in there than makes it to be that huge?

Seriously, what are they doing in there? The PS4 is almost like half its size and has an internal power source. Does w/e the XBone need for cable functionality take up a shit ton of space? What else could MS have put in there?

oh good they added the this generations the most chintzy mono wired headset I have ever seen. Like last generation. At least they are forcing the alternative of using the kinect as a chat system...

Yeah still going PC this generation.

If you have to plug your cable box into it to watch TV then what's point of it? There is the kinect functionality but it doesn't look like you're gonna be throwing away your cable/satellite box any time soon.

Cable companies have a vested interested in keeping the cable box in your house. They would never budge on this.

I wish it was in more in a shade of pinky russet. That's the kind of console -I- want to use! ( Spend all my gaming time gazing at the console, no seriously, I do...it's the reason I live, the reason I love the reason I breath!)

*coughs* Sony put this as a feature in their first presser on the PS4 *cough*

Disclaimer: I'm totally putting this down as assuming this person in by their attitude of nit-picking something so minor on a minor video must have some sort of vested interest in making fun of it. @officer_falcon: that didn't stop the xbox 360 from its RROD problem =/. Also, it was very possible to make a internal PSU that doesn't get very hot at all. Of course that would cost a little bit more though. Sony has always put their PSU inside, and if I remember correctly they have been the only ones? Everyone else has external PSU's. Even in the past with Nintendo and Sega.

@syed117: Actually, size really does matter, because a lot of us have certain spaces in our homes where we like to house these devices, and when they don't fit so well, it creates a problem.

And since the Xbox One is the size that it is primarily to do their deals with cable companies (whom we generally despise), it's quite frustrating.

I don't know why everyone dislikes this video so much, I thought it was fine. I actually really like the way the One looks, it's grown on me, and hey, free sticker! Somewhat of an inconvenience that the power brick is still in there though, even if it's much smaller than before, and I feel like the USB port layout on that thing isn't as good as it should be.

The amount of pure jaded and biased assholes in this thread is incredible. Complain for the sake of complaining because that's what gamers have been reduced to.

Can't believe people still cry about size and power bricks. I really hate this huge box because it's so big and I can't fit it into my pocket like I can with other home consoles. Maybe complain about not being able to stand it up vertically, that would actually make some sense.

Power bricks may be slightly more inconvenient but they are much more consumer friendly when you run into problems. I lived overseas for years and traveled with the 360 and PS3. They were on 220 and all I had to do was swap out power supplies for the 360. You can't do this with the power supply built in, each console is made for a specific voltage. Had to use a down converter for my ps3 which is not ideal at all. Plus if something goes wrong with the power supply, you don't have to send in the whole box for repair. Surges and other electrical issues are not uncommon. No one complains about laptops having power bricks. A device you actually carry around on a regular basis. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Glad they decided to throw in the headset. Looks decent enough and will most likely be leagues beyond that garbage ear bud that sony is calling a headset. Plus it is pretty much guaranteed that the voice quality will be superior to the PS4. An even greater gap that already exists between the 360 and the PS3 right now.

Looking forward to November. Getting both at launch but definitely more excited about the Xbox One for the first year.
