Could be interesting, even though I already don't like the artwork.

Asking for money before there is a game even? Oh, didn't see that one coming.

Gaiman is the fucking man, so I'm looking forward to this. He's already written short stories, novels, comics and is writing the pilot for the HBO adaptation of American Gods. No reason he can't write a game too!

Those character models are fucking terrifying.

But, I'm intrigued, despite the kinda gross schilling. Neil Gaiman's a pretty rad dude, and I've liked The Odd Gentlemen games—admittedly some only in theory.

Excellent! Fantastic! Wonderful! Gaiman is, in my mind, one of the greatest storytellers of his generation, and I would be happy to play a game he has had any part in.

This is interesting that they are raising funds - but doing so directly.

http://whohauntsneil.com/welcome/

Not using Kickstarter. I wonder if they assume Gaiman is such a social media powerhouse that they don't need an intermediate to help them raise money, and therefore, get a cut.

As we know, Amanda Palmer, Gaiman's wife, recently ran a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/amandapalmer/amanda-palmer-the-new-record-art-book-and-tour

I wonder if something soured him on the process. Who knows. The dude owns Twitter though - so they will be fine.

One of my favorite authors is heading into games? Not much more can be said besides "I'm in."

Though I think the game should've been called Neil Gamin'.

But, that maybe speaks to why I'm not an author.

Yes a great book and he's a very good writer of strange worlds just below the surface.

Also he wrote the Douglas Adams/HHGTTG companion book 'Don't Panic'.

Oh man, I LOVE Neil Gaiman. Just finished his new book and re-read American Gods. What a book that is...

Also, it sounds like Beetlejuice: The Game...which is not an inherently bad thing.

Long time Neil Gaiman fan here, I'll check this out probably, but my expectations are always pretty low when non-game types decide they want to get into making video games.

Edit: forget what I said earlier. No way that can happen. This kinda sounds like Tecmo's Deception or whatever it was called. Plus, he needs to learn to read a TelePrompter better. Mebby the PotUS could help him with that.

Just finished reading Neverwhere again today. The picture of him on the back cover versus his appearance in this video made it really hit home that dude is starting to get old. Looking forward to it, because at the very least the writing will be fantastic.

I heard there was an American Gods show in production? If this works out then, I hope he makes another game as well based off of that story.

It sounds like The Haunting starring Poulterguy. I loved that game as a kid, if that's just a HD version of that then I'm on board.

Yeah. He has his wife who knows Kickstarter in and out she even talks to the founders of kickstarter. So Amanda is well known to them too. So Gaiman has his own reasons maybe because of Amandas knowledge of Crowdfunding has pushed him in this direction, since she has crowdfunded her entire career.

He has his reasons.

Ps. I was one of the folks that funded Amanda's Kickstarter when it was just $2000 raised. Since I am an Amanda Palmer fan and Dresden Doll fan since 2006. Its been a crazy ride following Amanda from Dresden Doll, Debut, hatred of her label onto kickstarting another awsome album and watching her recent shows plus her letter to the Daily mail song.

Regardless of how the game will turn out, I think it will be super cool for someone who's worked so much in the world of literature to see how games work and work from the inside no less. I'm sure as a writer it would be simultaneously exciting and a wake up call when it comes to approaching writing games for the first time.

The characters, for lack of a better term, look Double-Finey but I trust the devs to clean it up before release. I kinda hope this is a success because I think the industry could use someone like Gaiman who has a ton of respect in the writing world to report back and say what game writing is like for people in both industries.

I'm sure plenty of book nerds who work in the games press are flipping out because they possibly have the chance to meet Neil Gaiman.
