David Jaffe is always a pleasure to watch. His mind is moving so much faster then his mouth and he seems to really, really care about this game. As a long time fan I really do wish him and his team the best of luck with this game and I hope to hell it does well.

Geeze that guy can talk, I love interviews with him. He always reveals so much more about the game and the philosophy behind it than other people do.

Also, this game really reminds me of Battle Tanx on the PS1/N64. Something about the aesthetic of that level and the movement gave me nostalgia big time.

@Darkstar614:  Jaffe has addressed this questions many times, generally with the same response: "Fun is fun".

This game doesn't need to be pigeonholed into an obscured sub-genre that barely existed.  Most consumers aren't going to look at this game on a shelf, pause, and think "hmmm, I just don't see how car-combat is relevant".   I think that's something video game journalists say to sound smart, but can't really explain what that actually means.  It's a shooter, plain and simple.  No need to over think it.  Last I checked people still like blowing stuff up and shooting at other people online in video games.

I think now more than ever gamers are looking for something to play that's a little unique.  The market has been inundated with generic FPS's repeatedly the last few years.  This game looks fresh enough to garner some attention.  The nostalgia factor is always a plus as well, it certainly didn't hurt Mortal Kombat.

Where the hell does David Jaffe live?

lol. Good one.

On topic: I was pretty interested in this game just because I loved Black but Jaffe and the team's enthusiasm alone is enough to justify my $60. I think anyone who puts that much into a game deserves some sort of reward. I bet this won't happen, but it would be so perfect if this game ended up doing like Halo numbers.

I love the look of the cars in this game. I guess my PS3 will finally get some action next February.

A man with that much energy must have a real love for his work. I love that about David Jaffe.

Calling on Cars is going to be on this poor man's epitaph. He deserves better.

Two people I always love listening to talk, Jaffe and Ken Levine. Jaffe in particular, he puts his heart and soul into his games. Never really played Twisted Metal but I'm really excited for this.

Say what you will about the game itself, there's clear passion behind it.

Ryan seemed genuinely overwhelmed by the sheer flood of Jaffe, who is obviously somewhat insane in some manner. Awesome interview (?), though!

Love the Jaffe. More words per minute than my secretary. It's especially great how he talks like I know what video games are and doesn't aim his words at the lowest common denominator.
