Perhaps I'm not up on the celebrity gossip, but why does @danryckert hate Jared Leto? Does he just not like his music or is it like residual My So Called Life teen angst hate? I'm not into it myself, but I've mostly enjoyed him in films (American Psycho, Requiem for a Dream, Fight Club, Panic Room, Lord of War). When it's come up before on the GBeast cast I think Dan just said something along the lines of him being pretentious? I did a quick google search and all I found was he had a big legal battle with his old record company, he's vegan, a method actor, dates around a lot and is maybe bisexual.

One of the rare instances where I agree with Dan. This game had fantastic writing, good characters, and a great overarching story over five episodes. It was a great narrative experience.

What it wasn't, however, was a good game. The gameplay was too bare-bones for me. And hell, even if the choices counted towards gameplay rather than a CYOA, nothing about the choices actually changed much about the story.

So yeah, good story and characters, but none of its interactive elements counted as being good. I would have gotten the same experience if I watched someone play it on Youtube.

@curryspiced: His band is terrible, yes, but he's also guilty of doing things like sending his costars used condoms and used anal beads and blaming it on method acting. I'm not a fan of Dan's negative vibes, but I know sometimes it can be fun to rag on someone who actually sucks.

I agree with you that the worst part of The Walking Dead was the "gameplay".

I disagree that watching on Youtube would have given the same experience. The reason is simple; the decisions I made were my own and that gives a ton of emotional weight. It sucked having to choose between 2 seemingly shitty outcomes. Whether the decision has any lasting effect on the end result of the story is irrelevant. In the moment, there's only the stress and indecision. Without the control, you're disconnected and simply "along for the ride".

God of War 3 really disappointed me after lo-o-loving 2 but this footage looked very pretty.

@arrested_developer: The new God of War has the same director(Corey Barlog) as two, so you might dig it. Who knows? Note: He didn't direct 1,3, or Ascension, nor any of the PSP games. Pretty sure David Jaffe directed the first game, of Twisted Metal Black fame, and Sig Amundson was at the helm for 3.
