looks fun

nice and original idea, but i dont like how dark it is.

Though again taken from Enders Game.,.. but hey... I suppose there are not many manuals to reference for ideas of zero G combat...
 
Not we just need to see people shooting between their legs because it is a harder target to hit as you are presenting less to the enemy...

You can still hear sounds that vibrate up your bones. As long as your holding the thing, You'll 'hear' something. "

 The very first part of the demo says "Warning: Audio simulation will be disabled. Use extreme caution."   When silent running goes on, the Audio simulation goes away and nothing is heard. If you look at the HUD when it restarts and you hear sounds again, it says "Sound Simulation Active" "

It certainly "looks" great but I feel like actually playing it would be really difficult and disorienting.

It's a strange reason they are not supporting XP really. Say they are forward thinking, advancing the tech and not looking back.... seems like the 1st thing to do to be forward thinking is building a user base to fuel all your advancements. It's a misstep I think.

Still think it looks like a bad Quake 3 mod with gravity set to zero.

I would like to play this, it looks awesome, however, I do not think my stomach would be able to handle the Zero G-ness this game is all about.

Looks really cool, but I have to wonder how it actually plays.

I bought this game today and so far I'm liking it alot. Shooting is fine and the controls work well once you get used to it. And shooting people in the oxygen tank makes them EXPLODE!

I already see a few pluses:
+ I always kind of liked the concept of space
+ The environments and the lighting could very well depict a desolate atmosphere
+ The guys with guns look more like astronauts than space marines (actually, add another few extra pluses just for this)

This video has laid all my fears from the last one to rest. Not only are the physics of sound and recoil explained, but they are incorporated into gameplay tactics. I may well buy this.

Interesting but it's a victim of poor timing.  How many people are really going to choose this over the myriad of other FPS games arriving this holiday?

You know what Space is right? They move like that because it is like that how you move in space. You dont flap your arms or legs like an idiot when using a jetpack since theres no wind resistance in space. Thats why they dont fly like superman because it would go just as fast "standing". I'm sure you have seen real astronauts working in space. "

The game is really fun.

I think it's worth $20.

Also, the developers have said that they're going to regularly release free content updates for the game.

Ha, so thats how they explain the gunshots in space. Good idea. Id love to try this but im sure it'd chew up and spit out my computer

Mike and the Mechanics would like a word with the developer.

Looks like fun, also like the throwback to the awesome 70's Sci-Fi movie....Silent Running (no zero G battles, but the name means the same...only instead of individual jet packs, he did it with an entire spaceship).
 
Sucks that I'll have to upgrade JUST for a $20 game.

This game is fun bought it and love playing + all the mods you will get for free is an added bonus.
