When asked for comment about his upcoming Starships iOS game, Sid Meier was quoted as saying the game would "reach out and touch the sky", whilst making the player at home feel "higher than a motherfucker."

There is only one Starship I'm interested from Sid Meier and it has deck upon deck of golf courses.

Looks like it'll be some kind of Masters of Orion thing. Was hoping it would be Elite style space trading or at the very least Homeworld-like. There have been a bit too many space 4X games in the MOO style in the past 5 years for me to get all that excited about it.

Only on Giant Bomb would a Sid Meier's game be introduced with a Nicki Minaj reference. Fantastic

I don't keep up much with that pop music the kids listen to nowadays. Search for the song and this is what I get. You kids are weird. I don't see what it has to do with starships.

I don't think I registered a word of the narration because I was just trying to imagine Civ in space but could not. Will there still be polygons? How can space have flat ground?

I failed to get the Nicki Minaj reference, and I feel really proud of myself for doing so.

I'm curious if this will be a "dumbed-down" Civ game since it's also coming to iPad? Or if the iPad version will just be like the iPad Civ games and PC users will get a more "full" experience?

After feeling burned on Beyond Earth I'll be waiting to read reviews and watch people play it before I decide to buy (which speaks for every game coming out anymore).

The video is quite similar to Beyond Earth, even the same narrator I think. Looks like an iOS tie-in with BE.
