I keep forgetting that this game exists.

I remember the QLEX for this game coming out ages ago. I assumed it'd already been released!

People should look at this game as a case for how not to market something. I'm already more than sick of it. I would've guessed it came out over a year ago. And the way the gaming media has propped it up because it's made by one of their buddies has turned me off of it completely.

And the QLEX where I thought to myself "Huh, that looks kinda neat" was how long ago? I'll still probably end up picking this up entirely out of curiousity but god damn. GOD DAMN!

For being something that supports cross platform play you should be able to just buy it once. 15 bucks on xbox, win8, Winphone8 each seems kinda high if you're in deep in the Microsoft camp.

watched trailer to see why everyone is so excited about this game finally coming out. After watching it, I still have no idea what it is. Great job marketing!

I'll probably be grabbing it for my Surface, looks neat enough.

This game was always on the back burner for me... But at this point... its been in the back for so long its "burned" and I could care less. With games like Super Meat and Don't Starve ... FTL... and so on... I just don't care anymore. I know its not all on them... but... Sorry.

They announced this way too early. God it seems like I've been hearing about this game forever. At this point I have way too many games on my plate, maybe when it goes on sale.

From what I understand, the massive delay was because Microsoft picked it to be a flagship Win 8 thing. So it got localized to everywhere on earth. There was an 8-4 Play podcast with one of the devs, but even that was months ago so my recollection is poor.

Yeah I understand why and I hope it turns out well for them but for myself a game stays on my radar for a set amount of time. Just like The Behemoth and Battleblock Theatre, was excited when they announced it but it has been so long I just don't care anymore. It's a bad way to look at games but that's how I am.

Yea, talk about pointless trailers that feature zero gameplay. That being said, there is a quicklook EX up from a while back if I'm not mistaken. But still.

So that's when Windows 8 is coming out.

About time! I remember seeing this (in a near completed state) back in mid-2011 at the Seattle Retro Gaming Expo. Was super excited about it then, but by now I'll still give it a look at, but I don't know if I'll buy it.

This game has been in development for an eternity. I hope the wait was worth it.

I saw this at a Pax and I'm pretty sure that was like 5 years ago. Also I dont have Windows 8.

Kind of feel bad for these guys now, hopefully I'm not their market.

It was fine when it was a small scale turn based strategy game which was coming out, but then it didn't come out and in the mean time more indie games came out which make this look a little... XBL indie if you know what i mean.

You are not wrong about Battleblock Theater. I'd heard about that a while before i first saw it. At PAX 2010. It doesn't help that it doesn't look that great. My theory is that the toy sales are so good for Behemoth they are better off keeping BBT in development perpetually so they have an excuse to set up shop at cons.

This game looks fantastic, just what I want.

I just bought a convertible windows8 laptop so I will be picking this up day 1.

I'm hoping the writing lives up to the hype they are trying to build for it. Doing humor in games is hard. I'm just glad I have something to play on my surface! :)

My recollection of the QLEX gave me no comprehension of what about this game justifies long delays or a glitzy, high profile release.

The long delays are related to the small team and ambitious "Skulls anywhere" mode.

How many years has it been since that QL? When I think about it, I feel like an immortal looking back on eons long past.

I guess 17-Bit already got paid by Microsoft so hopefully they're set no matter what (they seemed like nice enough, hard-working dudes in the QLEX), but this game just looks flat. Other than anyone who'd actually be wooed by "samurais AND zombies... EPIC!", this just seems like a bare bones strategy game that should have just gone right to iPad, and moved on.

Also, anyone think the design of those ladies is a bit...revealing. I am always a fan of tits everywhere, but that design is pretty in-your-face for an OS pack-in.

I kind of don't care about this game anymore. XCOM has all of my interest in Strategy RPGs.

That comment seems more than a little unfair. I believe in the QLEX and interviews later they do nothing but say good thing about working with microsoft in terms of the support they got, but blame delays on being too ambitious on their own end.

Feels like this game has been in development forever. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it should've been.

@aquacadet: I like their ambition but MS have ruined the huge appeal of this game which is being able to play it anywhere. Unfortunately, MS require you to buy it on every platform as none of the marketplaces they have are integrated which is what these guys have been talking about for a long time. So if I buy it on my phone (I have a Lumia 920) I can't then play it on my Windows 8 PC but if I buy a game on an Android phone, that same game can be played on an Android tablet without an additional cost. The cost also doesn't help. This game is $15 on XBLA and Windows 8 and $7 on phones.

It's not really heading my way, since I have Windows 7.

Finally the reason I put Windows 8 on my desktop will be released. I have been waiting for this game for a while, I really hope that the cross-platform play works as well, got some friends that only play on Xbox and would love to play this with them.

@mrcraggle totally agree the fact you'd have to buy it in 3 different spots (win8, xbla, phone) is kinda shitty, but I don't know of anyone doing it better. Android and iOS lets you buy once per platform and play it anywhere on that platform. For example if you buy a universal app and you can it on iPad and iPhone, but they are the same OS. Same with your Android example. That being said I hope to god you wouldn't have to buy this on both win8 and surface (since they both run windows 8). However the phone runs windows phone 8 and has a separate store. I wish Microsoft would innovate in this space, but for the time being they seem to be doing the same as everyone else.

@aquacadet: You're right but MS really had the opportunity to really innovate in this space seeing as how Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 now use the same kernal and MS went on about how devs could easily port their apps from one to the other because of this. The PS3 and Vita are different but they allow for cross-play so what's stopping MS? It's probably down to money and MS knowing they can get away with it. XBL is the only gaming service that you have to pay for and people gladly/begrudgingly pay for it yet it's an inferior service to the likes of Steam and locks out content you already pay for such as Netflix if you don't pay for a Gold membership.

If this came out when I first saw it like 2.5 years ago I might still care.

At this point unless it was a universal purchase for 2-3$ I already have too much other stuff to play.

Trailer unsold me on game.
