The only way this would be worth it is if you can slap the hell out of your friends avatars. Which they won't allow. So this is dumb as hell.

Um.....nice tech demo?!?!  Seems like too much effort for regular people to do on a regular basis.

I see this as being a great way to do telephone conferencing.  Free and you can easily gesture when you have something to say, something very hard to do on the telephone so you end up speaking over everyone.  This is going to make my meetings fun and more productive.

I think the Kinect would struggle to replicate the subtle gestures and body language that we use.

Actually seems interesting. Not that I'll ever use it, but it does.

And just like the actors in this commercial, anyone who tries to use this seriously will come off as contrived and repugnant.  I feel embarrassed for those involved in this ad and anyone who uses this in the future for anything more than retarded youtube videos.

This seems.. interesting. Especially when people are going to be miming obscene gestures all the time, and you'll see avatars randomly look like they're smoking invisible bongs, if it's anything like xbox vision games went.  
 
But I could see it be a fun feature if they brought back stuff like 1 vs. 100, which I really liked actually.
