The Division Is Now Also Coming to PC

The most exciting thing in this trailer is the new Ubisoft logo.

It really does. None of it looks fun, why would anybody do that? To "help" their friends? I'D rather play with them for real instead of playing "tap the enemy" "swipe over the enemy" "tap over the enemy again"

Because when you go to a friend's house you can use his tablet to help him out. Oh wait nobody would do that because that sounds really boring. Well maybe you want to be able to play the division whenever and wherever you are. Oh wait nobody is going to start busting out tablets on the bus so they can play the division.

That's cool as hell as long as the app comes free with the game.

I'd play an isometric tactical game that looked like that on the PC. But all AAA titles have to be either first or third person shooters right.

Seems like a pretty decent use of the tablet feature, whether people will use it or not. Seems to give you a tactical advantage to some degree. I can see people propping up their tablets next to them and use that thing as giving them an edge of sorts and not be only on the tablet. Assuming you could do that and not have to sign in with your ID and it disallows you to do both. Granted, at that point everyone might have their own sky support and it's all crazy. Unless they limit it to one per team or something.

Hmm, I like that Ps4 might also follow the 'exclusive to us (and PC)' model.

Finally, a game with some nice looking asymmetrical integrated tablet stuff. I've been wanting to do this for years, but don't have the budget myself. Hoping for more games with smart modes for tablets/phones to get involved. Imagine something like Planetside 2 where phone users are playing their own drone hacking and sabotage game while pc players do their FPS. If that sounds horrible to you, I'm sad you lost your imagination.

So.... having someone on a tablet is like playing in god mode? Personally that seems like it takes away the challenge and strategy of playing the game with a controller. I get developers want to make the tablet/mobile part of the main game, but there's got to be better ideas floating around than this.

@pie: I think its more or less going to be an option when you are not able to sit down and actually play the game, and instead are traveling and only have your tablet with you. Otherwise I'm sure anybody would prefer to play the Division for real.

I kind of like the idea of the tablet being used to spot people that you can't easily see on the ground. It could be a decent feature. Also I don't have a tablet because I'm not silly.

@abendlaender: This is a feature I'd use when I wasn't at home, but wanted to hang out and play a game with friends for a short bit (like on my lunch-break at the office, for instance).

It's also something that my wife might be into when she's sitting on the couch watching me play anyhow (without any real interest of picking up a controller to shoot dudes).

Sadly like any multiplayer game this will only really flourish if there are enough people who actually play the game.... OR they come up with really good bots. I'm excited for this, but not TOO excited for it. =\ Commander mode has already been done with the Battlefield games, so... I'll wait to see what more this has to offer besides just looking really nice.

I get the feeling you'll see people playing on tables in maybe the first week this game comes out and then they'll disappear, never to return again.

Awesome. I was hoping this would hit PC too. Well, there goes one major reason I was going to pick up a next gen console at launch.

The tablet thing is a neat gimmick, but I'm really not impressed. Then again, personally I'm wholly unimpressed with the general concept of tablets.

I have a so-called "smart phone" and a laptop. I don't need a bigger phone or a smaller, less useful laptop.
