IT'S SO GOOD. It reminds me of the VO from that show that was all about revealing the illusions behind all of the classic magic tricks. Wish I could remember the name of it...

Man, that looks great, but my newly bought, decently speced PC won't be able to run it. What kind of game requires 4 GB of VRAM!?

This looks like the sequel to Resident Evil 4 that RE5 should've been. Looking forward to it.

4GB of vram is the recommended spec for ultra settings you can still run the game perfectly fine with less.

This makes me even more excited. So far the only thing I can really complain about, even though I see it as somewhat intentional is on the visual side, whether that be just how it looks technically or how some things animate (player movement seems kind of stiff, which is what seems intentional, while the enemies getting shot also look to not react quite as nicely as one would hope); it's not bad, and here actually looks pretty decent, but so far it's the weakest aspect I've seen so far. I love the idea that it's going to take multiple styles of horror, like slasher and psychological, and the whole action and upgrading aspect actually has me excited... I hope it's good, because it has my interest. Oh, but that trailer speaker was goofy.

@darlan: That blog clearly states recommended and not required. The same thing is repeated on the Steam store. Very few people have 4gb or higher of VRAM right now. Hell, I own an Nvidia 780 and I don't even have 4gb of VRAM. But I bet it's recommended, just like it has in the last year, for any game wanting to run at 2560x1440 or higher due to the massive scaling of texture size with resolution increases.

Is it just me or am i getting a heavy RE4 vibe here? And 'm not going to lie, its getting me pumped.

Whatever is going on at 2:55 has me interested. Seems as though the whole game won't be incredibly dark. Anyway, looking forward to this, glad I discovered that OzGames was selling this for $40. The $80 asking price on Steam for the base game is just ridiculous.

With that RE4 style run and Assassin's Creed Wesker this is looking really Resident Evil-y.

I've been planning to stream this as part of my horrorfest for October. Now I'm not sure I can. I just checked out the system requirements and it seems absolutely nuts.

For example, it recommends a video card with 4GB of vram. Mine has 1GB. It also recommends an i7, but I have an i5. I've run things like Skyrim and Metro 2033 on highest settings with no problem. Will I be able to play this game? It's a little scary considering it's recommending things that like 1% of people have, and has a 40GB install size. I'm kinda worried about spending what little money I have only to find out the game is unplayable on my machine. I realize it's only recommended and not required, but how low would I have to put the settings for my machine to handle it? I don't want to end up playing it with like PS1 graphics just to get it to run.

I guess I have a couple of weeks to figure it out, but if anyone with a little more pc experience could shed some light on this, I'd really appreciate it.

As far as The Evil Within, I really hope it's good. I'm probably going to pick this up when it comes out, instead of Alien: Isolation.

Some extra supplies, which I think is funny. Also kinda goes against what this game is selling itself as... I hope that'll be a code or something, as I always hate it when games force these uber-powered DLC guns or what have you right from the get-go. Not that the Fighting Chance stuff is quite on par, but still, I want to play this game as it was designed without any of this easyLC getting in the way.

Guess you can just get rid of it all, but still it's annoying. I remember Rorie mentioning that it was especially egregious in games like Dead Space 2.

Speaking of DLC, i've heard that if you had pre-ordered the game, you'd get the chance to play as the boxman/keeper, is that true? I could have been misinformed.

@theacidskull: It'll be post-release DLC as a part of its Season Pass, which'll also include more story stuff involving you playing as Julie Kidman.

I really hope I'm not getting my hopes up over this game...
